This is exactly what I did..rented the GT-H from Hertz and it felt really good. That way I could take it on a real test drive (in the hills) to ascertain its handling prowess and it was already pretty impressive.
Dealer test drives, unless there are nearby twisties where they will let you...
For those who say Willow Springs isn't a "real track" or such-and-such car and do better at ABC Raceway, actually the track is at a 2500 elevation and as such, actually disadvantages the normally-aspirated, high compression ratio engine. The fact that the GT350R came within spitting distance of...
While obviously different days/track conditions can have in impact of 1+ second on a track of this length, given the huge horsepower difference this is nothing but a resounding win for the GT350R and its normally aspirated glory! Not to mention what appears to be a superior chassis and more...
Best to leave with your insurance company at this point, make collecting from the shipping company/driver's insurance their problem, which is what you pay them for. Much more effective going company to company and you're not at fault. Also, enables you to start repairs sooner.
We should be seeing evidence of this higher production soon, but so far call me skeptical as the evidence even of widespread $5-9k ADMs is evading me. So far, chassis numbers of cars just produced seem to be hitting the 400s (and have we gone above 4000 in the regular GT350s), nationwide...
Moreover, the dealers seem pretty lame in dealing with the issue. For their "test" they put the A/C down to 60, stick their hand in front of the vent and say "yup, it felt cold to me" The right way to do it is to have an electronic temperature sensor that tells you how cold the air is coming...
Feel like to have any cooling power, need to put temp down to low 60s. Never really had a car where I needed to set this low. With high 60s, feels like its blowing somewhat cooler air, but it's not that cold.
So just based on sound/vibration sensors? Coming from the BMW world, for high revving normally aspirated engines, the knock sensing was done by the sending ionic charge through the spark plug (acting as the knock sensor) and measuring/interpreting the changes in voltage conduction so that...
Purchased car out of State and needed to get CA emissions and the car failed most of the OBD II readiness tests. Promptly took it to the Ford dealer they saw the same thing (via scanner) and told me to drive the car around and cruise on the highway. Would this solve the problem? Any other...
Anyone run the Pagid Yellows (RS29s) on this car? In other applications great for longevity of rotors and pads and can run on street (have to put up with noise, but noise goes away if do a mini-bed in type procedure).
Think some measurements from VIR (Lightning lap) and MRLS had the R at ~104-105 db at 50 ft from sound measuring device. Also as a comparison point it was pretty much louder than anything out there and on par with 911 GT3. Of course, individual track/sound conditions matter as well specific...
Hey, coming from the BMW world, my dealer was happy to service aftermarket items, even if not BMW branded and fully honored the maintenance and servicing warranty. Maybe asking a bit too much for Ford, which is why I asked the question.
Anyone had success with getting the dealer to clear the FP oil catch can along with oil changes? I'm thinking of doing a maintenance plan and could see dealers be willing to do this for parts bought at their dealership.
