I'm just west of Oconomowoc, btw.
I got a Lund tune, not a Livernois. I'm happy enough with the tune and have never compared it to Livernois, but I think you are OK with either. My Lund tune was by email and used an SCT. Beware, the SCT does not support a Mac, which was a PIA for me.
I need to go check my garage to see if mine is still there, because that sounds just like mine.
I put a few miles on mine the last couple weeks after road testing some mods. When this latest snow melts I think we're in the clear!
I did the fluid change yesterday and used Amsoil. I had already installed the MGW shifter last weekend. I would say the fluid change helped with the notchiness quite a bit and it's worth doing. Temps here have been in the low 20s, so it may even be a more noticeable improvement once things...
I installed mine today. The front bar removal wasn't nearly as bad as I thought it would be. Just pull then check where it's hung up, move it past the obstruction, then pull and repeat. Comes right out. We still have crappy driving conditions (20 deg when I test drove) so I didn't push it...
You have to remove the entire center console anyway (which is easy). The part we are complaining about is stretching the MGW-supplied rubber boot over the shifter. George makes it look pretty easy in the video, but it's not.
One thing I thought of that I did that MAY help other folks doing the install:
I installed a Steeda transmission bushing while I had the trans mount unbolted. In order to install the bushing you need to take the mount all the way off and that may have helped with some of the access for the...
I installed mine yesterday and it wasn't too bad at all. I used jack stands and I didn't keep track of the time, but I was surprised how quickly it went. Maybe 2.5 hours, taking my time and fiddling with stuff as I went along.
I did not have someone help with the transmission or use...
I put Steedas on mine. When I drove it a few miles to let the springs settle I noticed it was really squirrelly, like not confidence inspiring squirrelly. I took it to a local alignment specialist who works on lots of performance and race cars and man, what a difference! I don't think he...
I don't have a lift so I'm using a floor jack and jack stands. I have one side of the car (driver side) on jack stands so that both the front and the rear wheel are off the ground. For the rear spring, I can't seem to get the sub frame to drop enough to get the spring out. I had been...
I've got my mods listed in my signature. I haven't driven the car since the day I picked it up, which coincided with the snow. It's in the garage so I'm hoping to use the downtime to get the exhaust on and the springs on. Eventually, I'll do a CAI and a tune and the shifter.
