I've not read through all 73 pages of this thread so I apologize if this is addressed somewhere, but just loaded my Lund FF tune (with 93 in the tank) and it will barely keep running. Any ideas? I have submitted a support ticket to Lund but looking to see if there are ideas here. Thanks.
I'm pretty sure my Steeda sways only have 3 holes in front and back (maybe an early version). I have mine set to the middle in both front and back. The ride is great and the 3 instructors who rode with me at a Road America track day all commented separately how neutral the car seemed (Steeda...
I received a rebuilt shock and a new one from Viking and installed them a couple weeks ago. I had the car out for about a 20 mi ride and it does seem that the "clunk" is gone. When the weather gets nice here in June I'll test again!
I've taken my Crusaders off and put the stocks back on. I can't believe the difference in noise reduction. I had learned to live with the clunk, but until I put the stocks back on I hadn't realized how bad it was. One of the Vikings was damaged, probably from when the shock mounts broke, so...
Guys, I don't think we should have to do any extra engineering to make a $500 set of shocks work. I think people need to stop buying the shocks until there is some kind of fix from Viking and/or BMR. The crickets have been chirping now for a couple months and as one of the original people with...
I have my car reassembled after my sock mounts broke and I am noticing a "clunk" under certain conditions - usually at low speeds. I noticed it before the broken shock mounts episode but didn't pay much attention to it as I thought it was just from the stiffer shocks. It does sound now like...
I just test drove the car and all seems well. I don't think the Vikings were damaged. I managed to get a spare pair of mounts just in case they break again before Kelly sends me the very first pair of BMR mounts! :)
For what it's worth, I really like the Viking shocks and I don't think they...
An update for those interested. First I'd like to thank forum member dwaleke for his offer to help out by shipping the mounts to me from MI. It didn't work out but the offer was very generous.
I was able to get a distributor in MI who had a few mounts to drop them off at a Ford dealer in...
Thanks. That's my next exercise. These two $20 parts are causing me some grief!
After talking with them, I'm confident BMR is going to come up with a killer aftermarket solution but right now I just need to get the car back on the road!
See my other thread about mine breaking. I'm in a bit of a pinch with no replacement parts available in the forseeable future and my car's on jackstands!
If you have a spare pair or know someone who might, I'd appreciate any help. I'm willing to pay of course. Maybe someone who went to a...
The rubber isolator that sits in the mount has a hard (i think metal) insert in it that the black steel collar with the hex contacts. That insert also contacts the top part of the mount that broke. So as far as I can tell, the only thing all of the force of the shock absorption hits is the...
