@engineermike I have a different plan tho...
I am currently considering fully built long block: sleeved 5.2 predator, pistons, rods etc.
Ported heads, new springs, valves etc.
With a 3.8 Whipple sitting on top...1300 whp...lol...
I appreciate your advice and perspective, thank you.
Yes, I understand.
I believe it was member @Autopart101 who has the Jokerz ported blower and 103 mm setup.
If that same setup were on my car, Jokerz ported blower, 2.7 pulley, 103mm TB...because my car is a manual with all the goodies...I...
@engineermike Yes, this car is very torquey and really shows what the Roush 2650 platform is capable of on 3rd Gen Coyote
Jokerz is literally down the road from me and I’ve considered the “full tilt” package from him many times.
Nevertheless, the talk more recently has been to add a bottle of...
That is the pricing for Kooks with high flow cats. There are plenty of other brands out there which are much cheaper and just as good as Kooks.
Stainless Works can be had on sale for $2k and figure $1.5k for install and tune.
There are other benefits to headers as well. I noticed a significant bump in throttle response IIRC.
Also, you can go 1 7/8 LTH into high flow cats and 2.5 exhaust system and that will be a little bit quieter than some of the other systems out there...
@Noleftist if I were you, I probably would not have let Ford put in another stock 10r80. Instead, I would have sent my gearbox to the aftermarket and had them completely stage 3 rebuild it. But, I am not you...
Also, I totally understand why you may have went oem because you are still...
I personally know race car drivers who are pushing 1300-1600 whp through a fully built 10r80.
It is absolutely possible to go built 10r80 and make that thing reliable right now. Suncoast, Midnight Performance and others have and are building this tranny's to last.
Be encouraged, the light at...
Ok, so Ford fixed your car under warranty. You are receiving a brand new trans. Great and Congrats!
Now, you probably need to be saving some coin in case your next gearbox bites the dust too. My suggestion, and I believe many, many others will concur, is you "go all in" on this build...
Dude, the best thing you can do is get your warrantied replacement trans and then sell that car...buy something else.
Clearly, you are unhappy, so just get rid of it and be done.
Quick Question: Why wouldn't you just take the whip to a car wash which includes undercarriage spray? I understand you do not want the auto-carwash with brushes, but here we have sprayers which will spray your undercarriage for like $10
I’m assuming you are asking about rear differential gears…No
3.55 and we actually went with the 2.66 Tremec gear set.
3.55 rears and 2.66 gear set is same exact setup as s197 GT500, only difference is we are running the t56 Magnum instead of TR 6060
T56 Magnum and TR 6060 are essentially same...
@ZLwhat if you are in a position to fork out $8-10k for parts/repairs if/when something breaks, then you are far better off than I was.
As I previously stated, my MT82 bit the dust with under 6k on the odo. When my trans died, I had the following options:
1. Fight a losing battle with the...
