Left side with BMR CB005 rear space frame lock out kit. Right side all stock. The extra 1.5 MPH in the 1/8 might be from the lock out kit preventing wheel hop. Both runs were traction limited.
Just to reenforce what has already been said.
Track car -> GT350
Street car -> 2018+ GTPP A10 Magneride
I daily my GTPP Auto Mag. But, I’m looking for a GT350 track only car.
Cheers,
Sounds like you don’t want to spend $1000 on active cruise control. But, there is this one in Dallas

The closest one I could find is in Phoenix...
The magneride option is supply limited. Most magneride components are used in GT350s and Bullets. I see one GT 401A manual magneride in Austin. Last year it took me three months to find my GTPP Auto Mag. I bought it while it was on the train to the dealer. Magneride is worth the wait. Best...
Marin Ford did the same thing to me with a 2018 GT. I gave up on them and used Ford’s online inventory search. I found a car on a train to Jim Burke in Bakersfield. Rode AmTrack from Benicia and picked it up the same day it was delivered to the lot.
Cheers,
I’m running the 305/35R19 Michelin Pilot Super Sport. It has a diameter of 27.4", a width of 12.3".
Hopefully the 2019 GT350 Sport Cup 2s will be available soon.
Cheers,
The 10R80 is capable of launching in transbrake mode. It requires a custom tune and the driver must have large attachments to use it.
The tansbrake functionality includes bumping into the lights and launching using the paddles.
Check out “lockdown18gt” videos in the drag racing section...
I’m hoping the 2019 GT350 specific Sport Cup 2 tires become available before my PSS tires are done. Rumor has it these have a street able compound. The Ford presser says the sizes are 295 front and 305 rear...
Don’t worry. FatFab is not a cake decorator. You will be able to frost your car to suit your personal taste.
Can you do this kind of fabrication?
Cheers,
Yes, it will be a NA car. I’m looking at the Gen3 for its higher red line. The extra HP/torque won’t be worth the risk.
The GT4 cars use the 5.2XS engines. Those cost ~$10,000 more than a Gen2. The 5.2XS is closer to a Gen3 motor. But, I’d rather spend the extra cash on brakes and aero...
I’m building a dedicated track car. I’m gonna put a Gen2 or Gen3 in it. Which one would perform better?
Gen2 Pros
1) $1500 cheaper
2) Sleaved block
3) Turn key kit using Ford Performance Power Module
Gen3 Pros
1) Better intake
2) Better heads
3) Better harmonic damper
4) Better head bolts
5)...
The wheel offset is how far the wheel center is away from the center line of the wheel. I increased the stock track width by ~1.7”.
PP1 rear wheel outside rim stock distance from rotor hat is
(WheelWidth/2) - WheelOffset
((9.5”/2)*25.4) - 52.5 = 68.15mm
Custom rear wheel width/offset...
That is my guess. But; I haven’t seen any proof of that. All I know is that a common S550 rear wheel size/offset combo pokes more than I thought it would.
I need someone to measure the GT350’s rear flange width and I can compare it to my GT magneride. Or the rear flange width of a...
The Magneride GTs have upgraded front spindles and rear hubs. The magnetorheological shocks were tearing up the standard GT hubs.
So, I think the magneride rear track width is wider than standard GTs. I used 19”x11” rear wheels with a +50 offset and I wish I had gotten +56 offset. IMHO it...
I second JR’s recommendation. The PP1 Brembo’s are plenty for a street car. Use the factory pads for the street.
Don’t buy drilled rotors. They were dropped from the GT350 for good reason.
I like slotted rotors; because, they wipe the detritus off the pads and keep it from embedding...
Just to close the loop. I chose a matched pair (same rig for driver & passenger) of safety gear. I'm 5’11” 190lbs and my son is 5’7” 150lbs. Both of us fit the seats.
Seats are Sparco Pro Adv TS
Belts are Schroth P2 6 Enduro 3” shoulders
HNRs are Schroth SHR Flex
The Sparco Halos are...
Talk to Shaun at AED. I heard he is in the Sacramento area.
I drive a 2018 GT PP A10 Magneride. I think I would just put the shifter in S and mode in Sport +. That way I could launch in first and use a single paddle press to lock it into second.
My son and I just built a 1995 GT for Autox...
Are halo seats also required? (Recommended?)
It seems the HANS provides the same kind of protection and I would like to maximize my peripheral vision on track.
Thanks,
