Well since i dont have a snap gauge i cant be truly accurate using a vernier caliper . I did spend some time with it came with .001 or what my feeler gauge reading was. But you said you wanted to see what the consistency of the crank is so you need to compare mine to another production crank...
Yeah worth comparing for sure. The TSS and the Ford gear are both .008 i just didnt include the pic of the TSS gear as i didnt think anyone else cared. It wont be Zero for another weeks lol but i will measure it and post it here in a bit.
Do you have something to compare it too. Just curious since it is -21 here in my shop right now . When i checked clearances of my OPGS they had just came from the delivery truck and i have since checked them again at room temp and there was .0015 difference.
Keeping within fords tolerances is all i ask for and i didnt get that so hopefully this thread helps someone before they install their gears. Dont be like me and assume something .
did you watch the video that i shared a link to.? I could be wrong but the outter ring will grow with heat more so than the center gear, pure speculation
Sorry to hear that, never easy losing a pet or any loved one. Be strong. Seems no one sits at the kitchen table anymore, no matter how many times i clear it , it just attracts more stuff . Its basically a catch all.
So Fedex came through fast as fast can be and the TSS gears just showed up. Sadly my machine shop closed 10 minutes before they arrived. This is very exciting. Up to this point i think they are money well spent but the HRC will seal the deal.
Thats pretty much in line with what i have been told but maybe a hair low though the Vickers test tells a lot as well. MIne were HRC 26 on the gear in the middle which is the one that was shedding which is way to soft imho.
I spoke with the engineer at boundary and we discussed hardness and 2 different tests are necessary one is Rockwell C and the other is Vickers.Rockwell test the hardness to a deeper level and Vickers test the surface hardness. The pump and gears need to not be so hard as to break if a foreign...
well thats an option but once we have TSS in hand i will know better. I cant understand how a complete pump from FP is 1100 and the gears only are 434 have not ready anything about the pump other than all specially assembled by OEM . must get paid well to put them together. Someone on the...
I couldnt agree more. i would think .004 minimum. In my minds eye i can picture the center gear moving around and the outter gear moving in its bore and with these tolerances no way they wont crash. My TSS are enroute going to be an intolerable wait lol
