I sat in a new M4 recently. The interior is OK but feels like it was lifted out of a 1 series. I've also sat in a Mustang and loved the interior. Yes, big luxury German cars have amazing interiors but the 3/4 series, A4, previous gen C-Class don't. I find the previous C-Class interior horrible...
I'm guessing it's purely down to costs and standardising the specs for all the cars coming to Europe. Maybe now that Ford have seen how much interest there is in the Mustang, they'll allow a bit more customisation for future cars.
Yeah, I'm not sure what they are thinking with all those changes.
My opinion is that they weren't sure what the demand would be like in Europe so they standardised the specifications to be able to mass produce them more easily and reducing costs. This would explain the lack of customisation...
I don't personally care about the buttons or even the positioning of the hand brake as long as the pedal positioning is still as perfect as it is on the LHD cars.
I drove a RHD Gallardo on one of those track day events and the pedal positioning was awful as a result of converting from LHD to RHD.

It was good, a few others and I were specifically asking due to what people were saying about it being muted. Then again, it was inside a building so the reverberations made it sound better but listening back...
