Thanks for sharing... I drove mine to work all last week. Gas mileage is bad, but the range is the biggest issue. I have to get gas every 4 days.
Besides the fit / finish, one of the other bad things is that the car brings out the Hoonigan in me. Always rev matching, heel toe...all the...
Get a rear seat kit in the R and put some MP4S tires on it and drive the crap out of it.
If it's gonna be under a car cover for most of the year, then get the Trackhawk. You won't regret it!
There was another GT350 that went down this weekend @ VIR. Number 6 and 8...
Out of respect, don't want to share more info about the car, but another one bites the dust.
1. How many miles on your current engine? 4600
2. Have you ever had your engine replaced, and if so why? No
3. Do you frequently track your car? Yes, every 6 to 8 weeks
4. What is the date of manufacture of your car? ?
5. Have you had any engine mods/upgrades done, OPG's, valves, cams etc? No...
I reached out to Carbon Revolutions because I was looking for an answer, guidance and ultimately a fix to my wheel issue. Something that Ford was not willing / able to do.
The only thing Ford gave me was an excuse to why they wouldn't warranty my wheel. I wasn't even able to get a...
As mentioned, the brake caliper clearance is an issue. (Especially if you have a track that has a gravel paddock...LOL)
Both my CF wheels have similar gouges in the ceramic coating. Nothing to worry about, but I'd check them regularly... even between sessions.
I did have a failure (Look up...
I run in the advanced group and I agree...very rewarding when you are passing Corvettes (C5,C6,C7 Z06s), Vipers, Porsches, etc. with less hp and more weight.
The only time I get passed is when a good driver has a more capable car. VIR is a fast track...so not having the 100-200 hp in the...
I did until one of my CF wheels had an issue. Look up a thread I started for details. I repaired the CF wheel, but have my street rubber mounted on them now. I still track the CF wheels with street tires - will probably mount slicks on them next.
I was running a square set up for my street wheels on my R. Had an issue with one of my CF wheels, so I swapped my BC Forged street wheels (square set up) to my track wheels. I run a 25 mm spacer up front and can rotate the wheels front to back. I have been swapping after each track day...
I think about selling my R from time and again... then I have a track therapy session at VIR and those thoughts disappear. Luckily, my track therapy sessions are on a regular schedule.
(I do wish it had another 100 hp for the long straights when I'm playing around with 600-700 hp sports cars).
My thoughts exactly... one of the the track guys just lost his motor and Ford denied his motor warranty claim due to abuse / racing. So he had a shop tear down the motor to find the oil pickup o-ring blowing out - eventually destroying some valves / pistons. (I haven't been on the forum much...
Tire life and track days depends on numerous factors. How hard you push, the track you run on, etc, etc...
I'd recommend the FP track alignment at the very least to help extend the life of the outer shoulders of the Cup 2's.
Running a set of stock Cup 2's @ NCCAR and the tires are toast after...
Amen!
Those that don't get a chance to enjoy the car at the track are really missing out... it is sooo good! But you'll have to be careful, as soon as you try it once... you only want more.
I didn't read all the posts, but I have BC Forged with a square set up (19's with 305's on all corners). The wheels need a 25 mm spacer up front. With a race alignment, I was worried about the wheels getting chewed up on the street quickly. You need a different set of open lug nuts for the BC...
