this is a good workaround. the cheapest solution if u had a flat front tire would be to use the factory spare to replace the rear wheel and then take the rear wheel and replace the front. this would be 2x the work but likely you wouldnt need to do it often
i think the simpler solution to this problem is to do the following if you have a brembo mustang or upgraded the front brakes to the brembos. the standard spare wont fit over the brakes. however, if you get a flat FRONT tire do the following:swap the rear tire with the spare (which will fit on...
was planning a track day in a couple weeks. went to adjust the rear shock damping on the koni yellows for the first time. pulled the rubber cap off and found the adjustment tab completely disintegrated from rust on both rears which are only 4 years old. both fronts were fine. live in midwest so...
the videos suggest that you have to remove the lower and upper control arm to spindle bolts in order to reach the hub assembly bolts. can this job be done without removing those bolts? ie only removing the brake caliper?
the reason you think it doesnt look right is because the smaller end of the stoptech line does not completely cover the crush washers like the stock line would have. that being said, i think it should be fine.
mostly its an improvement in braking CAPACITY. that is, the brembos can brake hard all day without fading. in that regard it is a night and day difference. as far as braking one time, they are probably similar.
the 681954 seems to be the cheapest oem equivalent rotor which is why it was selected for the project. be careful with the part numbers. the 681954r and 681954per are different rotors.
that would work 99% of the time. the problem is with brake/suspension bolts is that they are mission critical and 99% of the time isnt good enough. that blue or red stripe on the bolt is microencapsulation and is a shear force activated version of loctite. only works once. theres no reason to...
i think you have the line installed wrong. the error is at the attachment to the caliper via the banjo bolt. it supposed to head INWARDS towards the caliper bolt before taking a 90 deg turn straight up. yours heads outwards i think. see pic
also i noticed you need to tap the pad retaining pins...
i think you are right. does anyone have this data. i already threw out my old rotors.
but i think you would not need to change the master cylinder to do this upgrade.
regarding my cereal choice in the morning i employ a complex algorithm taking account cereal type, how much milk is left, number...
hello
there has been some concern about what happens to brake bias if you upgrade the 4 piston 14" factory gt brakes to the 6 piston 15" brembos. using some info from other posts i managed to come up with a calculation. the force applied to the pad via the caliper piston is the piston area x...
i should mention that not only did car id give me the core refund, they also sent me a prepaid shipping label as well. the core concept is to promote reuse/recycling so as long as they receive a caliper that is part of that program it actually shouldn't matter to them. the car id website is...
here is link for caliper

as far as the core refund, im still waiting to hear back from car id. if they dont accept it, ill sell the old calipers on ebay
