Likely came from the dealers garage keepers policy...not out of their own pocket. Dealers insurance company will likely subrogate against the customer's insurance company who backed into the OP.

Interesting, I wonder if it has to do with the break in process and the rings not seating properly. Another member detailed their process for break in, same theybjse for motorcycles and they haven’t had any issues.

Looked at it today. Confirmed September 2016 build and of course spin on oil filter.

Checked out a 17 magnetic today. Dealer has had it since late 2016...sticker is 60,620. Dealer is asking 62,600. Before I showed up said he would do 59,000. Showed them Cars.com of other new 17s with same options for 54,000. He said they weren’t new and were probably titled already...said check...

Does the window sticker display build date? Looking at a 17 at a local dealer and trying to determine the build date and if it has the new canister style oil filter or original spin on.

WOW! You can see the aluminum parts completely burned/melted away. That was a pretty intense fire! It must have formed some solid mass in the engine bay as it had to be moved there and it didn't fall out the bottom of the car.

Quick update in my search. Dealer 7 miles from me has a 2017 magnetic metalic (recarros and electronics package) listed for 62,xxx. Shot a quick note to them and they came back at 59,000...i asked if that was out the door, answer was no. I let it sit for a while and they text me back that...
