I know I said I'd post this in the "6th gear sucks" thread, but I wanted to follow up here anyways. Maybe later I'll follow up in that thread with graphs, etc.
I modeled the GT350R in CarTest. It took about 90 minutes to input all of the parameters, etc. I input a user's actual dyno chart as...
That's not what I'm after, and I also doubt those will be the same answers I'll get...for a variety of reasons. Most obvious reason is I doubt C&D had infinite distance for testing. Maybe I'll just do it and post the results in the 6th gear sucks thread.
This is purely subjective because I...
I've been trying to avoid this, and still am, but I may have to model all of this in CarTest program. I find it very accurate when I input the actual dyno charts into the program and let it analyze everything. I've had such good results with the program that when I input my actual dyno chart...
Here's my take after driving the S65 (M3) for nine years since new. I've had all the following combos: stock, full bolt-on, stroker motor + full bolt-on, supercharged stroker motor (Texas Mile), and back to stock. The individual throttle bodies give the S65 much better throttle response over...
I guess I am a bit puzzled by this because I'm not even disagreeing with you or with the quote I cited. I can't think of any bone stock car, except maybe a Veyron or one or two others in that same exotic category that can hit 200 MPH in a standing mile without substantial modifications. So...
You got it. I would want it for the Texas Mile. With the TT kit alone, we'd be able to hit 200 MPH at the Texas Mile if it weren't for 6th gear. I'd seriously consider doing that. But then adding to gear changes (to hit 6th) or final drive changes (to keep it in 5th), adds a bunch more...
I'll keep the off-topic to a minimum. I'm co-owner of BE Bearings, the guys who make the aftermarket bearings with extra clearance for the S65/S85. It was my engine and my engine builder that discovered the problem in the first place. There's different opinions on the subject. Your 2011 has...
Yes of course, generalizations were intentional. But this really pisses off my wife because it's happened multiple times. At the end of the day, I know this about my friends and I have to decide whether or not this bothers me enough to terminate our 25+ year friendship. I gave my wife that...
That is correct, but I did also give advice about this new one but had much less role in it than the first one. The one thing I feel a little guilty about is that I may have talked him into this one knowing now might not be a good time for him. So people are free to bring me the heat, if they...
I have conversations like this with my wife quite often. Let's say we remodel our back yard and give a bunch of our old stuff to friends. Our stuff is worn out, maybe even rusted through. The point is that I give it away for free to our friends. Then a year later, our friend may fix it up...
It looks like it's a great kit. Not a bad price either. If I were in the market (not ruling it out), I'd want to take it to the Texas Mile and break 200 MPH. The only thing stopping me would be 6th gear. Do you know if anybody makes a more suitable 6th gear, maybe a 0.85 or something?
ESS is the biggest supercharger for the E92 M3 platform. I know they are developing a supercharger for the GT350 as well. I've seen pictures. :)
You might want to reach out to the people at www.esstuning.com for more information.
Here's the video of the setup I did for the BMW E92 M3. I'm not a graphic designer, so the design might suck, but somewhat mimics the M3 dashboard. This was a great video because I created this remote-control gimbal-mounted mechanism for the GoPro. My son was controlling the shot angle of the...
Not a fan of the overlay, and the delay is a killer. Slightly up budget from that rig is the AIM SOLO-DL ($200 more), then about 3x up budget from that is the vBox with CAN bus connection. Both would be far better.
AIM SOLO-DL has very limited CAN bus connection to GT350, and they don't let...
