  1. Want to buy a GT350 but cant drive a manual!

There's a bunch of GT350 owners on this forum from the DFW area. They seem like real nice guys. Hopefully one of them will see this and offer to help. BTW, my M3 clutch sucks compared to my 350.
  2. Want to buy a GT350 but cant drive a manual!

I presume your Harley has a clutch? You're 90% there. Use your left foot instead of your left hand, and your right hand instead of your left foot.
  3. Want to buy a GT350 but cant drive a manual!

My son never drove a stick before. So he bought a VW GTI on purpose just so he would have to learn to drive it on the way home. It worked. A colleague at work did the same thing buying a 911. It worked for him too. Mine has perfect clutch and perfect throttle. Probably best clutch I've ever...
  4. New guy buying something tomorrow

The people who buy the GT350R then go replace the wheels and tires don't care about the price difference in the first place. Price wasn't the concern when they bought the R. So what's the point of bringing up price as the reason to buy the non-R then spend more money to make it more like an R...
  5. New guy buying something tomorrow

Luckily people have their own goals and priorities and free will to execute those goals and priorities regardless of what other people would do themselves. I bought a brand new E92 M3 in 2008, paid cash, and within 18 months dumped far more than $50k into it to meet my goals and priorities...
  6. New guy buying something tomorrow

    BOM = Bill of Materials
  7. New guy buying something tomorrow

If I'm not mistaken, the last guy who tried to turn his GT350 into a GT350R was at about $50000 and still couldn't get one last piece of the BOM to match. The thread's around here somewhere. I may be wrong about the $50k, but it was a very large sum, much larger than the $7k with $10k left...
  8. GT350 FORScan Tweaks

I haven't seen anything to adjust speedo. I stayed with almost identical circumference tires to make sure the speedo error was minimal. Not sure if you've already bought the tires; if you haven't, try to choose ones that keep the same circumference. BTW: Long time, no see since the M3...
  9. On the brink of buying a GT350R

I'm in your area too, 350R, with cage, and spare wheels/tires for the street. I haven't tracked it yet...but when it cools down a bit I'm hoping to make time for the track. Congrats on the car. You will never regret it.
  10. New guy buying something tomorrow

If you can afford the R, buy it because you will never be sorry you did. But if you buy the non-R, you might be sorry you didn't buy the R. I am of the belief that the R is worth the mark up. The car has more personality than any other car I've ever had (mostly BMW's).
  11. Voodoo how long will it last?

It's only money. I'm sure I could get the crank, rods, and pistons made for it. I'd have to look into the valve springs to 9000 RPMs though. :D
  12. Voodoo how long will it last?

Can you give some numbers on piston-to-wall clearance for each? I'd like to put it into perspective of some other engines I know to see how it compares.
  13. Voodoo how long will it last?

This is the exact same logic people use to explain why BMW chose rod bearing clearance only 65% of the 80+ year industry standard design best practice and methods, then mate it with thicker than standard 10W60 oil. They went against their own bearing manufacturers design white papers on the...
  14. Differences in Motor between R and non-R

You're telling me every E36 M3 engine on the production line was strapped to an engine dyno and run in?
  15. ALL GT350/GT350R LEADS, ALLOCATIONS, DEPOSITS [READ FIRST POST]

Here's possibly an MSRP deal on GT350R in black. It's listed online at MSRP, but who knows what you will get when you call the dealer. Good luck. Skyline Ford 2510 Commercial St SE, Salem, OR VIN: 1FATP8JZ1H5523763
  16. My GT350R Story

Sac is a bit far for me, 125 miles. Sad because I was in Sacramento this past weekend scoping out places for my son's wedding rehearsal dinner. I even drove the R up there...something I wouldn't have normally done. Was that Cannery Row in Monterey?
  17. My GT350R Story

Where is the C&C in NorCal area? I lost track after the one in San Jose kind of fizzled out.
  18. Coming from M3 to '17 GT350

I'm out of town right now, but I will post screen shots when I return. Here's a link to the software. http://www.cartestsoftware.com The key to good simulations is inputting accurate settings. I spent a lot of time perfecting my settings on my M3. So when I set up a new car like the GT350, I...
  19. Replacement Stripes

I finally read this. Excellent write up. Which red stripe did you use? The bright red, or darker red stripes? Pics look like the darker red. Regarding the overlap you mentioned. The GT350R has the same red stripe overlap, maybe 1mm over the black. Photos look fantastic. One last thought...
  20. Introducing HR486- FINALLY!!!

Gorgeous R! What's your date at Laguna Seca? I live an hour north and my buddies are there all the time. They're trying to get me to come out there on August 3rd.
