  1. How did Ford test the 5.0?

I remember reading once that Ford tested the 5.0 engine by keeping the revs around 7k for days on end. Do the engineers really do intense stress tests like those or is it more of a myth?
  2. I really want one.

I'd gladly take 330 miles my commute is soon going to be about 90 miles total per day. In a gt that's a hefty gas bill. About $50 every week easily. In a 330 range ev it's maybe...$10 a week?
  3. I really want one.

This is a legitimate concern. I will say, when it comes to electric vehicles (especially as a daily) a lease makes sense. Since evs are so new the tech will change pretty dramatically every 3 years. Plus I think the batteries do start to "shrink" and lose range around the 4-5 year mark. If you...
  4. I really want one.

Well I'm not sold on current evs. Something about a sub 300 mile charge worries me. But if we had a great mustang branded 370 range car? I don't care if it has 2, 4 or 6 doors I just want it. Plus I imagine it'll look great sitting next to a "real" mustang in the garage!
  5. I really want one.

Idk what happened in my brain today but I really , really want the new mustang inspired ev crossover. Especially if it has the rumored 370 mile range. What an awesome daily. Then id have my loud, gas drinking beast for the weekend. Yeah I like that future.
  6. Rumble at idle.

So I got the oil changed today and a full tank of shell 91 gas. Car does seem to be noticably more smooth. Even ironed out what I thought may be a "driveline vibration". Car feels good as new. Thanks all for the info
  7. Rumble at idle.

Thank you so much for this reply. I live in San Francisco so frequent short trips are the name of the game. I'm going to get the oil changed asap. I'm hopeful that will quell some of the rumble.
  8. Rumble at idle.

I only.use 91 octane I usually go to Chevron or shell. I've never put less than 91 in the car. What interesting is the car runs fine minus the shaking. Speed is still there. No lights no codes. Maybe I'm just being paranoid. But I feel like the shaking is new. What I will say is the shaking...
  9. Rumble at idle.

Well after messing around more I was able to pinpoint a couple things. First, the rumble is more noticeable if the car is in reverse with my foot on the brake. If I sit in idle it will be smooth at first but begin rocking after 10-15 seconds. I opened the hood and noticed the engine cover...
  10. Trusted dealers in Bay area

Hey all just curious if anyone in the bay area has had a good experience at a dealer service department. I'm taking my gt in to see if the rumble/vibrations and engine noises I have are normal. I usually go to serramonte but never feel completely confident.
  11. Rumble at idle.

Hard to say as I am a novice with cars. It feels like I'm on a motorcycle honestly. Smooth for a second and then a louder rumble with side to side shaking. It's noticable in the whole car.
  12. Rumble at idle.

Curious, do your GTs rumble when idling? By rumble I mean the engine seems to rock the car back and forth. I can't help but notice my car feels extra rumbly lately but maybe I just never paid attention before. Would a new catback have an effect on rumbling?
  13. Since a full tank of gas weighs 100lbs

Hahaha this is the best comment here.
  14. New 2019; Magneride Is Sweet

Congrats nova! The Kona blue and black wheels looks insanely good. I'm drooling to be honest. Hope you enjoy the hell out of it.
  15. Will my wife shoot me? V6 vs V8 MPG at 80 MPH

How luck for you, I just drove my 2016 gt with 3.15 ratio 300 miles at 80-90. I average about 26-28 doing 80 with cruise control on. But I do a lot of passing so the bursts of accelerating would bring me down a bit. You can assume 25mpg easy and if you're good then you'll get close to 28...
  16. Any experience with costco

Wow thanks all for the advice. I appreciate the feedback. If y'all don't mind I have one more silly newbie question. My gt is the absolute base with 18, inch wheels. Is it possible to get 265 tires on an 18 inch wheel or will I need to upgrade to 19 inch?
  17. Any experience with costco

I'm looking to ditch the pirelli all season tires after 3 years of service. I'm thinking of going Michelin and being a Costco member they run some great deals. Has anyone here purchased and had tires installed at Costco? Just curious if they took good care of your car or sloppy. Thanks for...
  18. My neglected 5.0

I can relate a little to the op. My 5.0 is my primary work vehicle. It is treated as such. It goes weeks at a time sitting covered in dust. It's only been driven 11k miles in 3 years. And when it is driven it's hauling product and working. It's been dinged and scratched. With that being said I...
  19. Shelby GT350 Door Dinged by Service Department

Yo can we get the name of the dealership? Id love to give them a ring about some of their vehicles and then say OH WAIT you're that trash dealer who dinged my buddies gt350 I'll just go somewhere else. What can I say I'm a troll
  20. Reving to high RPM bad for the engine?

Yikes. I've always been a fan of the carbon Cleaning method. It states the engine runs better if you drive it hard because the extra movement gets the built up carbon out of the engine. It also puts a massive smile on my face so it's a win win. Disclaimer: the information in this post is not...
