VCT stuff came in from MMR. Another package from them tomorrow, we'll see. Called G-force...8-10 week lead on the 9 inch. I got impatient, so pulled some funds for the totality of the build and am gonna get all parts ordered.
Went ahead and bought the JPC Stage 4 th400 w/ SFI case, 252 diode...
Here's my research/motivation for the day :p Has the car been dynoed? I know I asked you but you did use the standard CF driveshaft that comes from JPC?
Edit: just saw the dyno video. Curious what that 3.8L puts down!
For anyone considering these, lead time right now isn't bad; ordered today, ships the 31st.
I also asked about a different compressed thickness and it looks like they only offer them in .044 as per Fox.
Thanks man. The goals have definitely progressed as I've gotten into it. I'll eventually be going the more aggressive route on the bottom end, but I'm gonna need a bit of a financial reprieve initially :cwl: I will say I am shocked the DSS driveshaft has held up if it's their off the shelf...
Lol I'm a turd. Literally thought about that as I opened this. There is a groove that you can catch.
I'm guessing the gears are stronger than the housing so makes sense, what would cause something like that in regards to perimeters of the gear? Might have to edit my above post.
Was curious about the OPG's so cracked open the housing to check. Props to Boundary...they had those light machining marks when I received them. Although they look kind of deep in pictures, you can't catch a fingernail or even begin to feel them. Regardless I contacted Boundary at the time and...
Yep, have checked them out! Also looking at JPC. Thought about just piecing everything together but again I don't know if once I get in there it'll be a hassle with small stuff.
This in general is freaking awesome and the fab work is beautiful, huge props to you.
Sorry if I missed it, but out of curiosity what made you go this route versus running it front mount at a shallow angle?
Feels nice to finally get into things physically over just planning. Got a decent amount torn down...am I odd wanting to see a little carnage during a teardown? :cwl:
Got a package from MMR coming into tomorrow, we'll see what we've got.
Engine out, please excuse the fluid mess lmao. Tip for anyone pulling a coyote for the first time...don't forget the ground strap at the rear of the engine. That sucker was hanging on for dear life :P Will have some small things to do for a bit....front brakes, line lock, interior, tear her...
Looking to do some weight reduction for a project and tempted by a few things, but curious as to their fitment. I know "race car parts" often are not direct bolt in, but just curious if anyone has had a tough time with their bumpers/trunks/etc.
Haha don't worry, there will be a second version... I went with the Callie's as you recommended for now. Next step will be billet block/crank and external fuel pump alongside probably Diamond pistons...and then fixing whatever goes to cause that :cwl: That's about a $35k+ step though
G57 88mm, ID 2600's, kinetic crank saver and PNR tank ordered....I went with 1 inch fittings...so that means Frankenstein manifold it is. I think I've decided to go with TKM for the machine work as well, anyone have experience with them?
Went to install the JPC line lock today...the self...
Did you go with a kit setup or piece everything together? I feel like I've mapped out the necessary pieces, however I'm afraid once I get in there there might be a lot of smallish things I don't account for. I wonder if it'd be worth spending a tad bit more on a kit ala JPC.
