  1. BMR jacking rail getting deformed

    I’d contact BMR customer support.
  2. Koni Active Shocks

Thanks man. The reason they’re not installed yet is because I’m not visiting my folks to use the garage haha
  3. Koni Active Shocks

Makes sense why there’s no noise then. Good to hear yours are problem free. Don’t have a garage to use to replace my shock mounts so still waiting on install until it’s a good time.
  4. Koni Active Shocks

Did your replace your shock mounts? How many miles on your car? I have no idea if it’s the shocks or my shock mounts, I have the J&M shock mounts waiting to go in to replace the stock ones that had 55k on them. I’m fairly confident the new mounts will fix the NVH issue but if not I’m chucking...
  5. Question regarding SP763 springs

I believe you’ll be much better off with the monotube Bilsteins in the rear than my twin tube Koni’s. If the J&M rear shock mounts don’t solve my noise issue I may - just maaaaybe swap out the Koni rears for Bilsteins. Also VERY important to remember - the Bilstein front struts have internal...
  6. Question regarding SP763 springs

I thought that would be the case. I chose to drill 3 holes equally spaced apart. It was a bit of an experiment and I think it worked well enough. I figured it would give them additional compression that would help me in winter. Biggest issue is the freezing temps making your bump stops harder...
  7. BMR 763 min lowering springs

Those are ford factory bump stops pre cut. It’s a rip off frankly. They’re not softer or anything different than the ones that came on your car. check the picture I posted on the previous page. Notice how my factory rear bump stop on the left looks identical to what Steeda sells.
  8. BMR 763 min lowering springs

Just get 2 for the rear. Bump stops are important for the ride quality of this car. My fronts are fine with trimmed stock ones though. like Shogun said, the Steeda stackable ones are hard and the only real benefit is that you can use a shorter stack to allow more travel. Are you piecing...
  9. Question regarding SP763 springs

I didn’t trim them because they’re .24” shorter than the stock ones, a lot more compliant; I drilled some 4mm holes (I’m Canadian so we do metric and imperial haha) in each section to allow for more compression. While I’m still dealing with a noise and feel issue that I believe is attributed to...
  10. BMR 763 min lowering springs

The factory and Koni active shock piston diameter is 10mm. The bump stop ID of the Eibachs is 8.9mm and it was tight but some grease and force helped. Those are the exact ones made for the Ford rear end suspension and come with Eibach springs for the S550. Happy to pass along the help that...
  11. BMR 763 min lowering springs

These ones here: https://www.summitracing.com/parts/eib-ebs770060 And I didn’t cut mine but I might just cut the first section of the stem off. I’m working through an issue with a weird rubbery clunking sound in the rear and I think it could be failed rear shock mounts. I have J&Ms rear shock...
  12. BMR 763 min lowering springs

Given how much the S550 rides the bump stops in the rear I believe it’s essential to have good ones if you’re lowering. The Eibach stops have made an improvement over the cut down OE ones. The head design of the Eibach ones is like a mushroom and it compresses well. The Ford OE bump stops are...
  13. BMR 763 min lowering springs

the Eibach bump stops are 2.76” long, so they’re already shorter than stock to begin with. You could cut off the first section of the stem to reduce height further. Instead of doing that at first I’ve tried drilling 4mm holes in different areas to allow them to compress more. Another member...
  14. Koni Active Shocks

Thanks for the reply. Once I change the shock mounts I’ll know for sure that it’s the shocks if the noise is still there - hope to hell it’s not. If I still hear the noise I’ll definitely be reaching out to Koni.
  15. Koni Active Shocks

Will do. To specify - the noise is a weird rubbery bumping/clunking. Weirdest noise I’ve heard in a while. Maybe I’ll attempt to capture it on video so it can be heard.
  16. Koni Active Shocks

Thanks for clarifying @JCFoster Most of the noise I hear is also on multiple smaller bumps at low speed rather than over a single crack or bump in the road. Again the clunking and noise wasn’t present for the first 800 miles or so but then it slowly started to appear and get louder. That’s...
  17. Koni Active Shocks

Are you serious? Why was no one talking about this noise in other reviews. I would NEVER have bought them knowing there would be NVH issues. A better ride isn’t worth having your car sound like a 90s econobox. I guess that’s what we get when we buy an unproven product. Doesn’t seem like Konis...
  18. Koni Active Shocks

BMR did get back to me after a month and asked me to take pictures of the rear spring part number and if I had installed all the spring isolators (I had). I took some pictures, replied to them and never heard a thing afterwards. Granted it was never the springs causing the issue but yeah they...
  19. Koni Active Shocks

Still sorting out the rear clunking I’ve been seeing since October. Given that it’s winter it’s not as easy for me to work on the car. I thought it might be the bump stops so I bought a pair of Eibach stops off Shogun32 and installed those in the rear in January. It helped a little because...
  20. Mustang winter drivers

Haha I’m sure everyone is wondering what the hell I’m doing but I do see a handful of winter driven S550s, which is cool. Michelin X-Ice 3s do the trick.
