  1. If something happened to your S550, would you replace with a Dark Horse?

This might be something to consider if, god forbid, something happens to my Mach 1. Does this car have the track necessary cooling, eg oil/transmission/diff coolers?
  2. If something happened to your S550, would you replace with a Dark Horse?

I had this exact thought on Saturday morning as I was driving my Mach 1 to the gym. I am with Kyle on this one. My Mach 1 spends 99% of its life on the track. I think if something catastrophic happened today, I'd replace it with the most track ready/requiring the least mods as possible car...
  3. Apex wheels ordered. Positive experience thus far.

I bought the 18x11 ET52. I also bought these spacers and these studs from the Apex site. I am hoping to get a chance to install everything this weekend. The customer service at Apex is top notch and they helped me get the correct accessories and pick the right wheels based on the tires I am using.
  4. Alibaba Forged Wheels?? Worth it?

The Apex wheels I ordered came in a box with 2 wheels in it, but each wheel had its own box. Maybe that is how these are shipped? Hard to tell due to the box dimensions and the complete unreliability of information on Alibaba. Yet another reason to use a proven vendor.
  5. Alibaba Forged Wheels?? Worth it?

    >$300 each? The website lists each package as 20.0kg. If it is accurate, that is a damn boat anchor. I'd rather have a set of flow formed Apex wheels, with their warranty, at that price point.
  6. New to me boosted GT. What should I do next?

You can increase the HP all you want, but it won't mean shit if your car can't keep traction. Steeda "Stop the Hop" kit and depending on how you drive, upgrade the springs and dampers. When you say the tires are "kinda small", what size are you talking about? What is your intended purpose...
  7. 2026 Mustang Dark Horse SC (S650) - Official Specs, Photos, Videos

Is this considered the "Corvette Killer" we were promised by Ford? The MSRP will likely be around $120K. After dealer markups, well north of $150K. I can't wait for the automotive pundits to compare this to the C8Z06. I'm curious as to how the supercharger/temps will hold up to extended track...
  8. Long Term Coyote 5.0 Owners - post up status updates

I am the 2nd owner of my 2016 GT, but I bought it in Feb 2017 with ~2k miles on the clock. Mods in sig. I did manage to destroy a crankshaft, so I upgraded to the Aluminator short block. Sitting at 84K miles and runs great! The supercharger went on around mile marker 30K. 2021 Mach...
  9. This Dipstick means they WAY overfilled on oil right?

Good lord! Based on that pic, it is overfilled. Quite a bit.
  10. Apex wheels ordered. Positive experience thus far.

Picked these up today. I ended up going with the RS because Tire Rack said to RZ in my size is on back order until at least mid-March. Waiting on Steeda camber plates to arrive so I can install those along with the extended studs to make these work. Thank you to Apex for the suggestions!
  11. Tires for autocross

Another vote for the RE71RS. I use them on my Mach 1 and my GTI. Phenomenal tires and I have zero complaints about them. Another member here had a great quote about them....something along the lines of "they are boring because they excel at everything". I was holding out for the new RZ...
  12. Tow vehicle suggestions

As my affinity for HPDE has quickly turned from hobby to obsession, I have been researching a vehicle to tow my car(s) to the track. This wasn't much of an issue the last few years when I was using Conti ECS02 tires, but now that I am addicted to Potenza RE71RS's, I'd like to minimize the...
  13. Apex wheels ordered. Positive experience thus far.

I'd love to do the VIP days, but I have a business to run on Fridays. I went Memorial day last year, but it rained like hell.
  14. Ford to Launch something new - "corvette killer"

1000% agree on it being the driver. My brother has a 2009 Z06 that dyno'd 587hp yesterday. He brought it to Hallett last summer. I have been telling him about my "disappointments" in Corvettes at the track. He kept saying they are hard to drive. We swapped cars one session and I didn't feel...
  15. Ford to Launch something new - "corvette killer"

Dude.....the GTI is (in my opinion) the perfect car. Small enough on the outside to be maneuverable, big enough on the inside to hold a ton of stuff, power:weight to make it a blast to drive, the LSD makes you forget you are in a FWD car, the DSG is amazing and you won't regret not getting the...
  16. Ford to Launch something new - "corvette killer"

What is the definition of "Corvette Killer"? Is Ford just going to chase numbers, or do they want a car that will destroy the C8 on a road course? If it is the latter, they really need to recalibrate all of the nannies. In my conversations with C8 owners, this is what holds the car back on the...
  17. Apex wheels ordered. Positive experience thus far.

I’ll be there every month in 2026. Hope you can make some track days. I need to see more Mustangs out there. Too many Corvettes and BMW’s.
  18. Apex wheels ordered. Positive experience thus far.

I have not ordered the tires yet and I have been reading a lot about the RZ. I am debating it. Not only are they faster, but (allegedly) they are more durable. If I do go with the RZ, would you recommend the 295/35 or the 315/30 on the 11" wheel. They do not offer a 305.
  19. Apex wheels ordered. Positive experience thus far.

Correct. ~$500/tire. I'll let others try them out first. For now, the tried and true RS is more than enough for my driving abilities. I looked at the RZ, but not only am I a cheap bastard, I am impatient as well...
  20. Apex wheels ordered. Positive experience thus far.

I agree. And I just did the math. I am shaving 8lbs/corner with the new setup compared to my previous setup.
