Agreed. The Fusion is a nice looking car imo. I was very happy when I saw Ford release it and start moving on from the square/gaudy-grill cars (like the current Explorer)

Good question. I've been wondering too. Since Ford confirmed that the limited edition has its own VIN format, I would think the serial number could be the same as the production number.

What I'm saying goes back to your original post: Those of us that want limited editions (to guarantee having one, to not have some insane markup, and to have the options we want) don't have much other choice than to pre-order now. Those of you that want the other models can wait til whenever...

Except for those of us buying the limited editions. Ford is pretty much forcing us to buy these now before they run out.

I'm more dreading that if I order a limited edition, the out-of-state dealership I'm ordering it from will take it for a joy ride (before the break in period) because it will probably be the first 2015 they see. There isn't really any way for me to know what they do with it.

I had a dealer in the Seattle area that was asking for $20k over. The salesman said he managed to get (sucker) one guy to pay $20k over for his first allocation and SAID he had others lined up for any additional allocations he may purchase. Needless to say, we walked away from this dealer.
