They actually passed me on to Brandon this afternoon after I talked to them. He was helping me with a possible throttle issue I noticed. He seems like a friendly person. Maybe you could send me a PM with your info and I can ask him if there's any difference in the tune you have and mine...

I talked with John Nardi, who has always been very helpful and respectful to deal with and he passed my concerns on to Jon Jr. who believed that Alex was just giving me his honest opinion and not "blowing me smoke", but also suggested that it is difficult sometimes to discern tone in a message...

I guess I'll just be happy with what I have for now. I may have Fathouse tune the car next spring. I also considered taking it to Palm Beach Dyno. I have a friend who had good luck with Ken when he was in Ohio.

Lol, I work for Cummins... Think Lund would write a tune for a 4BT in a Mustang?
  5. F-150 Manifold Testing/Journey

I too have had mostly positive experiences with Lund, I just feel like they are trying to avoid this setup because they don't have a lot of experience with it maybe? It's definitely not a track day setup, and 99% of the people they deal with are after every last HP, but what does he have...

Is it just me or is this guy coming across as rude? I'm trying my best to contain my frustration with this guy!
  7. F-150 Manifold Testing/Journey

I sent the two data logs from yesterday to Alex F. at Lund this morning, this is what I got back.. "I'm not chasing cold throttle surging. The cars should drive fine when at operating temperature, adjusting for cold driving habits isn't ideal. Since the sensors, coolant temp, spark, etc all are...

They look OK to me. STFT = .95-.98, AFR = ~.85 Lambda. Tailpipe O2 from the dyno session showed ~13.25@WOT

I'm going to try sharing some files on here using my dropbox account. Hope this works... Logger data from the day after my dyno trip. 50% E85, Lund race tune: https://www.dropbox.com/s/9pl2n0tk6oy8q46/After Dyno Session_Race Cal_50% E85.csv?dl=0 Logger data from tonight. Cold Throttle...

I was looking at the log file I referred to earlier. I notice that above 4k the computer is pulling timing due to knock. My car made peak TQ at around 3850 or so. This could explain why my TQ figure is good, but HP is low. I think I either had false knock or bad fuel. E85 is kind of rare...

I feel like all I got from Lund was a lecture and made to feel like shit for trying something different. There's a lot I could say, but it would make no difference.
  12. F-150 Manifold Testing/Journey

I recently reached out to Lund about my somewhat low HP numbers. I didn't have a data log from the dyno runs, but I did give him the Dynojet run files. Here is the conversation... Lund: "I don't see a datalog attached. The F150 manifold is more than likely hurting your numbers, but no log is...

As for the TB swap, Lund told me to keep my money, the swap only netted them 3HP in their experience. I asked about the BBK and the GT350. Apparently the stock TB is good enough.

The porting is done with CNC machining on the plastic manifolds. Not sure what all is machined, but it's only worth a few HP. Not worth it to me unless your after every last HP. Edit: I'm not discounting that it's an improvement, I'm simply stating it's not worth it to me. I'm saving my...
  15. F-150 Manifold Testing/Journey

390-405hp is the norm for a FBO coyote with a canned street tune. I'm not sure why this is a surprise. I do have a full race tune from Lund, but that's not what I used for this test as I spend 99% of the time on the normal street tune.
  16. F-150 Manifold Testing/Journey

The car was dynoed at Fathouse Fab on a Dynojet dyno. 390.58 Ă· .85 = ~459.5hp, still lower than I'd expected, but only about 6rwhp different than the o.p. I'd talk to Lund, but I'm the one they told there's nothing else to do. But, it's hardly worth it to find another shop to tune the car and...

Stainless Works Headers JLT CAI Magnaflow full 3" Exhaust Lund E85 Tune at ~55% Ethanol
  18. F-150 Manifold Testing/Journey

Not sure, but I suspect it's a characteristic of the manifold. All the dyno graphs I've seen of the truck manifold show the same dip.
  19. F-150 Manifold Testing/Journey

The first two pulls were done in 5th gear, one of which had some issues. The dyno started flaking out at 180MPH on both pulls. The final pull was in 4th, but it didn't make much difference in HP or TQ. It looks like the truck manifold still makes descent power out to 7K though.
  20. F-150 Manifold Testing/Journey

Yeah, it only made 390 HP, but it made a surprising 387 FT-LB. I'll post the dyno graphs in a bit.
