  1. Get upgraded BAP if ordering Vortech/Paxton kit

Hey, if you wanna take my experience and go with a different BAP, cool. If you wanna tell me I don't know jack because they're all the same, cool. Just trying to put my experience/recommendation by not recommending a product that could've caused catastrophic failure. Just putting the Info is out...
  2. Get upgraded BAP if ordering Vortech/Paxton kit

Bottom line up front: upgrade fuel pump voltage booster from the start if ordering a Vortech or Paxton kit. Mine stopped working randomly and had I not been data logging about 2 weeks ago , I probably wouldn't have noticed for a while. It was making the engine very lean in upper RPM range at...
  3. Paxton S550 vs GoPro Speed Tracker :)

Probably. It'd be nice for it to work at the race track since there's a few more tracking overlays that I can turn on. Either way, it's pretty neat.
  4. Paxton/Vortech base bypass valve

Because I could hear it and feel the air blowing back out of the air filter if I had someone rev the engine. I can only give my experiences with the BOV. I'm at 12psi and it didn't work for me. The race does work for me. I'm sure like most cases, experiences vary.
  5. Paxton S550 vs GoPro Speed Tracker :)

I wanted to test my gopro hero 5 black's speed overlay out under WOT. It was a fun little project. I hope you guys like it! [ame]
  6. Paxton/Vortech base bypass valve

I did a comparison video of the stock vs race bov from paxton on 11-12 psi. I was having some compressor surge because the stock bov wouldn't flow enough to release the pressure and it was blowing back out of the air intake. Over time, that will damage the blower. Now that I have the race...
  7. Paxton 3.6 pulley dyno

That does seem pretty low considering I was 674/545 on the same setup. Every dyno is different though. The track will tell the true numbers.
  8. Traded in the mustang.

Congrats on the fox! And good luck with the new truck
  9. '86 Coupe Project

Thanks!! There will be much more to come
  10. '86 Coupe Project

[ame] pulled the engine and trans out over the last few days. now to clean it all up and paint under the hood
  11. '86 Coupe Project

Yes, I'm doing the whole thing outside, with hand tools, by myself, with limited help from the wife and my 9 year old son(who mainly just sits in the drivers seat and pretends he's driving it, while continually asking me if I can give it to him when he gets his license). It's a nice challenge...
  12. '86 Coupe Project

Finally started disassembly. Much more to come! [ame]
  13. Header Tubes

    Engine masters is awesome
  14. Blow Off Valve Comparison

I did for a little bit, but the 4 cylinder is on its last leg and spewing oil from several spots. It's not going to be anything crazy, just a 300ish hp V8 that'll be fun to cruise in. And no worries, thanks for the comments!
  15. Blow Off Valve Comparison

Thanks!!! I just yanked the 7.5" rear out of it today. its my budget V8 swap project.
  16. Blow Off Valve Comparison

I'm thinking too much Boost. What I read said 8pso Max and I'm seeing 11-12. Plus air was coming back out of the air filter too when I let off
  17. Blow Off Valve Comparison

Hit the nail on the head.
  18. Bleed/Burp Coolant

Not sure if it will do it automatically, but I have always done it myself. Fill the system with coolant and squeeze the lower radiator hose a bunch of times, add coolant, repeat.
  19. Blow Off Valve Comparison

the amount of necks broken since putting the race BOV on is immeasurable lol. With the radio on, I can only hear it faintly so I'll be keeping it for sure
