From my understanding it is basically a two step setup, but I have seen everyone on here calling it a "transbrake tune". I think that is the route I am going to try to take, but then again I am interested to hear your thoughts on your converter when you get it installed and run the car.
How do you think it will perform on a transbrake tune? That is the route I am wanting to go vs a converter. I can build 7psi off the line so far on 93, but it still doesn't come out of the hole like the stock turbo did.
I do not. On the stock turbo all you can hear is the turbo spooling. With the VS2, it has a deeper engine tone in the lower RPM range and you hear the turbo up top. I really don't want to change the sound over how it is. It is quiet like stock on the highway or interstate and has a very very...
I am running the VS2 turbo with MAP catless downpipe and stock exhaust. I just haven't heard an exhaust that I like and honestly enjoy having a quite car.
Thank you!!! I created this thread to have an informative discussion regarding this turbo, from owners with real world experience. I want people to be able to reference this thread and research if the turbo meets their goals and needs. It would be nice if a moderator could clean it up a bit.
With each tune revision I notice the car feeling more responsive down low. I did several digs last night and it feels like it is coming out of the hole pretty good. I definitely want the transbrake tune though as it would come out much harder.
I know I noticed a huge difference going from 93 to E30 on the stock turbo. So I can only imagine that it'll be that much more of a difference going to straight E85. I can't speak from experience since my car is an auto, but I can only assume the lag would be much worse in a manual. It sounds...
It all depends on your goals. FBO on E85 with the stock turbo would be a really fun street car. It would spool extremely quick but would still fall off up top. I plan on being tuned as high as my tuner will go. I'd like to push 450whp+ on the stock block. This turbo will make a lot more power...
I'm not quite sure what you're talking about. This thread is about the Vargas stage 2. You're going to be pushing the stock turbo really hard on e85 to achieve 400whp. What is your argument even about? You have literally voiced your opinion throughout this entire thread without any experience...
I don't think anyone is hating on me personally. There are two certain people that do not even have experience with this turbo constantly talking crap about it. This is not my first turbo car. I have been in the DSM/EVO world for the last 12 years. The housing on this turbo is completely custom...
The VS2 will out perform the stock turbo all day long. No, you will not have the the same type of spool as you do with stock. Also, the stock block will take much more than 400hp. Most tuners seem to not tune customers cars much over 450 though.
That is absolutely true lol. The VS2 having more...
I am only on revision 2 so far with this turbo on 93 octane. The car has a different sound and feel to it. As far as daily driving the car, the increased lag doesn't bother me at all. It still has enough power to take off hard and to pass when needed. Everyone made this turbo out to be a turd...
It is a tuning tool. It has its uses, but for me, I want to see what these turbos can do in the quarter mile (Trap Speed). I am not dismissing it and I think any and all information we have available the better.
