  1. 401a sub replacement and polyfill question

No you will be fine. Don't pack it in. Just put enough in to fill the space loosely and don't put too much right behind the woofer.
  2. 401a sub replacement and polyfill question

I am going to test the Polk MM840 DVC subwoofer. The bolt holes do not line up and the sub will bottom against the stop in the back where the factory sub bolts to. I plan on using a 1" MDF spacer ring, drill holes to mount to the enclosure and then secure the MM840 to the spacer ring...
  3. Another Custom Audio Build

Yes thank you. Seeing your feedback on the clearance was one of the reasons I went with the scan 10F driver. That thing is pretty small. I did buy the ARC welding wire from your link as well. And the spacer rings... Your thread was very helpful. :)
  4. WTB: 2016 GT PP Rear Dampers

By who? Do you have a link to the source?
  5. Another Custom Audio Build

I was inspired by a couple posts here and figured I'd jump in and do a custom setup. Here is the plan. Front Woofers: SB Acoustics SB17MFC35-4 6.5" Front Midrange: Scanspeak Discovery 10F/8414G-10 4" (3.5" really) Front Tweeters: SEAS Prestige 27TFFNC/G Rear Subwoofer: Polk MM840 DVC 8" in...
  6. Rohana RC7 20x10 - Performance?

285/35-20 is perfect on a 10" wide rim but limited tire choices and 275 is less expensive. 1) For straight line acceleration you need the widest tire that gets you traction off the line any larger and it will slow you down (I don't know at what point it is noticeable/measurable). 2) Mostly...
  7. Clink noise underneath car

I had the same problems with the black poly inserts. Took them out because I didn't want to live with the noises. They kept the diff under control really well though. It's too bad they add NVH.
  8. Hub bore of a wheel being larger then OEM?

Yes it will cause a problem. To fix it you get centering rings that reduce the size of the hub bore down to 70.5.
  9. If you have installed the dss drive shaft on a manual 2015 mustang gt see here

I bought these two sets because I wanted to add them to my tool collection. I was only going to buy the metric set for this project, but good thing I got both. I used the 5/16 from the SAE set...
  10. JL Stealthbox for 2015 Mustang coming soon

Did the Stealthbox come with and details on the enclosure? Volume of box? The 12TW3 subwoofer specs a 0.80 cu ft sealed enclosure. The box doesn't look much bigger than the factory subwoofer and that was estimated between 0.40-0.45 cu ft.
  11. Subwoofer boxes???

This is the only thing I've see so far. JL Audio Stealthbox. Pricey. http://www.jlaudio.com/car-audio-stealthbox-ford-mustang-coupe-15-up
  12. Whats wrong with Shaker?

Lossless bluetooth aptX could be great. I haven't used it yet. Does anyone know if MFT supports aptX streaming?
  13. upgrade just speakers

Rear speakers being down on volume is probably done on purpose. They are rear fill only. And even in this car I doubt many owners have people sitting in the back (which is really the only reason you'd have speakers back there at all). I'm thinking about pulling them out completely to gain a...
  14. JL Stealthbox for 2015 Mustang coming soon

Looks great! I'm debating between going JL Stealth or fit a Polk MM840 DVC subwoofer in the OEM enclosure. This is obviously a better route to go from a performance perspective, however, this is ~$700 option vs ~$100 Polk sub.
  15. If you have installed the dss drive shaft on a manual 2015 mustang gt see here

The Steeda install video shows them using the nuts and lock washers. However according to DSS those are only provided for vehicles that do not have threads on the mount like we do. I'm installing it now and the threads are a bit short to go through the lock washer and the nut. Which is an...
  16. Whats wrong with Shaker?

Sirius is very low quality. On par with regular fm broadcasts. Sometimes it seems worse than that. CD/usb with high quality files/hd radio are significantly better.
  17. XL-18 MT82 Addative done!

My mistake. Never payed much attention to the non-torsen cars. I thought they all transitioned to the brake based traction assist. Either way my owner's manual makes no distinction on which models get the friction modifier. It implies all gt mustangs.
  18. XL-18 MT82 Addative done!

The owner's manual also calls for friction modifier for the rear diff when the non-pp cars have an open diff and the pp cars have a torsen that doesn't need it. EDIT: Non-pp mustangs have clutch style lsd and need the fm. The manual isn't always right. The guys engineering the cars don't write...
  19. RIDETECH coilovers are in the works!!

Having fitment issues on the front as well. The struts are very tight on the knuckle and camber adjustment is not possible due to how tight they are. Measured the parts with a caliper. ~34.9mm knuckle width ~36.4mm factory strut bracket opening ~34.7mm Ridetech bracket opening Ryan from...
  20. XL-18 MT82 Addative done!

The MT-82 comes from the factory with XT-11-QDC Dual Clutch Transmission fluid as well as the XL-18 additive already. XL-18 is used to quiet down the transmission. Added to the XT-11QDC fluid because it is a very light fluid. Link to fluid chart. Notice note 6...
