Easy install, just tedius to run the tube from the engine compartment (used sound tube hole) and power from the passenger side footwell fuse panel. Several posts here in the archives that help. Only issue I see with the Roush gauge is if I did a lot of night driving I would install the...
This... If you can audibly "hear" knock it is severe it has already happened before the knock sensors can react. Much more severe than a couple of degrees. If you can actually hear knock caused by pre-ignition or some other root cause with any FI setup stay completely out of boost until you...
Since you already have the Roush appearace package that may sway your decision? The tune from Roush for the P2 runs ok, I didn't have any issues with it especially if you aren't shooting for max power. Aftermarket tune runs much better. Also you may consider saving a few $$ and look at the P1...
I have the UPR, and yes it works and it comes with both the passenger and driver's side for about $320. I have heard JLT works well too and you can go with just the passenger side where most of the oil comes from. I just liked the way the UPR looks under the hood better. I think prices aren't...
Thank you Kelly. I appreciate the reply and the pictures. I'm sorry... I have the SP083's, not the SP080 like I said earlier. So I would be running a SP085/SP089 combination if I swap out the SP084's up front for SP089's (performance front, handling rear).
Sent you a PM Kelly... was getting ready to install SP080's this weekend. I have a TVS blower and am now concerned it will drop too low with them. Do you know if Jeff Ashton switched them before or after driving with the 080's?
Also, any issues adding the SP089 front performance spring...
Different world but a lot of GM turbo experience... I never ran restrictors on several different large/small shaft journal bearing precision turbos even with high volume oil pumps and never had an issue. When I switched to my first BB turbo, I only made it a short while before it pushed oil out...
I thought closer to 11lbs.. but my Roush boost gauge says closer to 9 with no headers, Borla cat-back VMP tuned. IDK, it runs good so I'm not going to worry too much about it. I was curious though if anyone else was running a mechanical boost gauge with the phse 2 what they were seeing.
Consider an aftermarket tune... especially if you have access to 93 or
E85... and you will feel even more. Very happy with mine too. My Roush tune worked ok but there is more there on tap
I spent many years of my life in the optical disc industry in various engineering and leadership roles... including some time at a plant in Toronto Fatguy. We started up many of the formats that defined the optical industry. In the early 90's it was hard to understand that we would be in a...
Thanks guys, reading the spreadsheet now. Likely going to go ahead and order the 83's. Springs are the last thing I have been dwelling on...
Once again I appreicate the help.
I missed that the NEW SP083's have a different drop than the originals... thank you very much (once again) Bluemustang.
BMR Tech - You may consider updating the sticky for spring rates/drops at the top of the suspension page.. it still has info for the original 83's.
Thanks again.
Bluemustang - I ordered the Ford Racing dampers and am trying to make my final decision between the SP083's and the SP763's. I'm considering the 763's over the 083's because my car is supercharged and I'm concerned about the amount of front end drop with the additional weight.
Any thoughts...
