I used VMP for the same list of reasons you mentioned above except for the ngauge which wasn't available when I did mine. I've got the SCT4 and like it so no issue. You will find the remote tuning process is really very easy as is data logging. VMP will give you a list of paramenters they...
I’ve talked to you before hossman... I have the Roush phase 2 with VMP 93 tune. Runs night and day different. Had them do a couple of tweaks for the auto trans but now happy with shifts. Datalogs are spot on. Glad I went with them. Let us know how it turns out.
Finally got OBD Fusion IPhone app up and running with a Bluetooth OBD adapter. For an extra $10 ($15 total) you get a huge pile of custom PID’s for the Mustang. All of the gauges are fully customizable.. pretty cool setup. I won’t run it all the time but nice to have to periodically check...
I guess it's always your choice, but I would never consider putting a custom tune in my car without datalogging. I use Livelink, good tool. For tuning devices I believe you can choose between the ngauge or SCT4.
Their initial tune had some issues, second was very close minus a couple of...
Yes you need IAT2 harness from VMP. I used the SCT tuning device from VMP. They provided the stock tune to over wright the Roush tune. You then flash the new VMP tune. PM me if you have questions
Yes significant change from Roush. Running the 93 octane tune.
You already have everything in the 767 kit except injectors and throttle body. I have the Roush P2 kit and VMP tune, car runs great. Maybe consider doing that first and upgrading injectors/TB if it's not enough.
I gave up caring what other people think after 20+ years of Grand National / Syclone ownership. I got plenty of crap about driving pimped out Regals and low-rider S-10's with a body kit. Hell the Mustang is a big step up cosmetically from them even if a middle-aged man is driving it.
Anyone successfully add the knock sensor PID to OBD Fusion? It's not in the SAE PID list, I can add one manually but not sure on the settings. The App and the OBD Mx+ are working great just want this PID, it was the main reason I bought the adapter.
Finally got some time off to install sp083’s, ford track dampers, BMR vertical links and cradle lockout. Only had them since April lol. Install wasn’t bad at all... would have been easier if I looked at the CJ Pony rear spring install video first... was a breeze after lowering the cradle...
According to their website it includes:
82mm Pulley
VMP Twin Jet 67mm Throttle Body
56LB Injectors
Fuel Injector Height Adapters
VMP Fuel Pump Booster
nGauge tuning device
VMP Custom Tune
You already have a 80mm pulley, and pump booster. Just need to upgrade 49lb injectors to 56 and add their...
I had a rocky start as well... car went into limo mode and they were at SEMA and couldn’t resolve.. I will say though that the tune I have now is extremely good. I’ve never seen a datalog file look better and the car drives better than I ever expected. Response is tough from them but they do...
I can't imagine the Roush tune is causing positive knock if it isn't fuel related... I wish I would have datalogged with that tune to know for sure but it is super conservative.
What octane are you running? If already 93.. definitely add the torco and see if it improves. I know the Roush...
I basically have the same build in the same color... just subtle differences in some of the brands and a few appearance items.
You could throw the Roush P2 supercharger upgrade at it and a custom tune... pretty basic to do and makes a big difference in output.
PM me if yoiu want more...
I ran the Roush P2 tune for about 6 months. I didn't datalog with it so I don't know specifically what it did as far as pulling/adding timing from knock sensor feedback. It was really ok, I didn't have any issues that others seem to experience. I just knew it was set up for 91 octane, and...
