  1. GT Premium vs Mach 1 Premium

Yes, getting an auto eliminates one of the bigger differences between a GT and Mach 1. If you don't care about the better manual trans, and the track ready cooling, it is hard to make a case for the Mach 1. Personally I think it is a bit overpriced (too close to GT350 price, but too far from...
  2. Ford Performance track package or steeda suspension kit?

Why is one stop the hop kit $900, and the other $500? It doesn't look like you are comparing apples to apples. Not sure you need camber plates if the car will never see road course (or autocross) use.
  3. other things to also install when installing camber plates?

Just don't drive all the way forward and put your tire against the curb. Easy to do. Remember the typical parking space is designed to be big enough to fit a F150. So plenty of space to allow you to cheat back a little.
  4. Harsh ride?

The answer is yes, for will the ride be harshER. But depending on you, and your local roads, you might not even notice the difference (it might not be harsh). Contributors to a harsher ride: shorter side wall stiffer side wall of more performance oriented tires verses less performance oriented...
  5. Ford Mustang Again Claims Best Selling Sports Car and Sports Coupe

Never mind. I suspect the category was "Sports Car and Sports Coupe", rather than two seperate catagories.
  6. Ford Mustang Again Claims Best Selling Sports Car and Sports Coupe

So? the Camry and F150 outsold it. Does that mean they are the best selling Sports Cars, and Sports Coupes, and Mid sized Sedans, and Trucks.
  7. Can a Dyno tell a lie?

Racing on the street proves nothing. Maybe the other guy wasn't going all out (because he was on the street, not a race track). Maybe he didn't really get on it until you already had a big jump. Maybe he backed off once he hit 80, or 100 (because he was on the street, not a race track). Etc...
  8. Ford Mustang Again Claims Best Selling Sports Car and Sports Coupe

You can't have it both ways and be a sports car AND a sport coupe. Not if you have good category definitions at least. Otherwise I can claim to be the handsomest man ever, with a bunch of small print that limits the category to just a few people.
  9. Ford Mustang Again Claims Best Selling Sports Car and Sports Coupe

So then it is not a sport coupe I guess... Watch the commercials where a soccer mom drives a new sedan, and explains "it's like a race car!". Yeah, if you have never driven a race car, or seen one up close, or know anything about them, and your old car is an old, worn out POS.
  10. Does a 265 tire fit on the front PP wheel, and can you run it?

Using the typical manufacturer size recommendations, you can run up to a 275 F & 285 R. It should fit stock or mildly lowered, but the front is a bit tight. A larger than average 275 might need a 5mm spacer.
  11. Racing Wear and Tear: Rebuild or New Engine?

Are you putting in a full cage, fire suppression, race seats, harnesses, etc.? If not you are NOT going wheel to wheel (real) racing, you are restricted to track days or maybe Time Trials.
  12. Racing Wear and Tear: Rebuild or New Engine?

Leaded race gas and catalytic converters do not go well together.
  13. AfterMarket Track Seats

Depends on the version, and if you got the sizing right. Yes that is right, you have more than the 1 or 2 sizes that a typical race seat offers. Which is a forgotten advantage of the Aluminum shell race seat. But the higher end Kirkey road race seat ($400) has quite a bit of padding and is...
  14. First time autocross preparations?

I was considering it, but for some reason they want to keep the rules secret. Plus not happy with how they threw out the heritage TT rules without a discussion with the existing competitors.
  15. Kid street racing runs over women and child

Well based on the logic that someone I didn't know killed someone with a gun leads to the government demanding I give up my guns, will we all need to give up our cars based on an occasional idiot driver?
  16. Ford Mustang Again Claims Best Selling Sports Car and Sports Coupe

Not to mention how can it win for best sports car AND best sport coupe? I guess in 2020 you could argue the 2 seat GT350R was a sports cars verses the 2+2 coupes of the remaining Mustang line, which explains how you could qualify for both sports car and sports coupe. But given the limited...
  17. New Mustang GT PP1 or New BMW M4 with Competition Package?

Given a choice between a free $50,000 car and a free $100,000 car, I'll take the free $100,000 car every time.
  18. First time autocross preparations?

They both have plus and minuses. Autocross is a competition, can often be done every week within a reasonable driving distance, is cheaper, and safer. But you don't get much track time, it is relatively low speed, and you have to stand in the sun for an hour plus working the course. Tracks...
  19. First time autocross preparations?

It varies by tire, but 35 psi hot is a good target. Full off is potentially fastest, but I often use AdvanceTrack (?) mode for the first run or two while learning the track.
  20. Convertibles on a Road Course

Really? Because you just complained when Luc said the same thing in a slightly less nice way. P.S. It is usually the event organizer that makes the call, not the track. So that who is who you need to talk with.
