  1. The Mustang is the last man standing.....again

I hate the idea of EVs, particularly in a sports car, but I’m getting old and my 21 year old son, who loves cars and had a cammed LS3 C6, would buy a Tesla Plaid in a minute if he could afford it. I’m reminded of the recent thread about an EB vs GT… That mostly fell along age lines. Young adults...
  2. Too wide wheelbase and missing tube?

I can't see offset having an effect on the magna-ride. magna-ride is just the shocks and related sensors. Mustangs and many other performance cars come factory with different optional offsets, widths and diameter. As for spacers, the arguments (and there are many) mostly concern hub bearing...
  3. Too wide wheelbase and missing tube?

Sounds like you bought the target car?
  4. Too wide wheelbase and missing tube?

Wheels look factory, so they may have spacers, but you can also buy wheels in different offsets. Hard to tell without taking wheel off. Quality billet spacers that bolt on to the hub and then the wheel bolts on to the spacer (see photo) are perfectly safe and are most likely.
  5. Too wide wheelbase and missing tube?

You're not talking about "Wheelbase"... Wheelbase is the distance between the front and back axles. What you're referring to is how far out the wheels are sitting relative to the body. This is "offset", and offset can be changed by buying different wheels or adding wheel spacers. Most Mustang...
  6. High Performance Ecoboost vs Performance Pack GT

I think you'll love the M240i. I had it's predecessor, a 135I Cabrio. It was among my most favorite cars, fast out of the box and with a JB4 tune, quicker than a like-year (2008) M3 (V8). The car rode and handled beautifully and had a reasonable back-seat. Two things keep me in my GT over...
  7. High Performance Ecoboost vs Performance Pack GT

I was aware of that (probably before you were born) and I've had non-V8 mustangs, Camaros and Firebirds... But when I did, I was pining-away for a V8, and no amount of mods could make them a legit comparator. They could be made to look the same, maybe go as fast or handle better, but that's not...
  8. I need help with new 2021 gt fastback premium

The AT10 is definitely not great... I've read the Chevy version of the same trans is miles better. I'm hoping for a tune/software solution one day. In the meantime, I've gotten used to it and it honestly doesn't bother me anymore. I normally drive in Sport +. You can prevent the clunkiness on...
  9. High Performance Ecoboost vs Performance Pack GT

American muscle has to be V8. It's not a question of performance... The sound is half the equation. If you want fast and sporty with a 6 or 4 cyl, go with a European or Asian car, or a Focus RS/ Neon SRT4, etc.
  10. Aftermarket exhaust question?

As an old guy who grew up with American muscle cars in the 60s and 70s, single exhaust is simply "not cool", and NO ONE wanted single exhaust if it could be avoided. Its also simply symmetrical. Appears that this is the case again today, as even a base model Mazda 3 has "dual" (at least in...
  11. Second-guessing my decision...

I'd keep the gray 2020 you already have and there's nothing wrong with your decision. The $9K difference buys a lot of (off-warranty) repairs, if they're ever needed.
  12. Do you take cell phone pics constantly of your s550 ? Post them here !!!

Walking to, walking away, waiting inside somewhere, checking the garage before we go to bed... I'm constantly taking pictures...
  13. Is the Performance Package worthwhile?

"What I'm wondering is if it would've been better to wait and try to get one with the Performance package"... Umm ... You just bought this car a week ago... So why agonize over it now? don't look back and enjoy your new car. If you find it lacking in something, mod it accordingly.
  14. Ode to my convertible

I'm 60 and was born and raised in Florida. with the exception of a couple years when I had T-top Corvettes and Camaros, I have never not had a convertible. I've run the gamut from spitfires, TR4s, Fiat 124s, to CJs, Wranglers and Commandos, to BMW 135s, Z4s, and a Jaguar XK. I can't stand being...
  15. Exhaust Tip question regarding all S550 Model Years

Nope, the quad tips, started in 2018 are almost invisible. Two things I had to change right away... The Exhaust tips and stock GT wheels:
  16. Ford GT and Mustang GT had a baby- umm never seen this body kit before

Looks good but for the front end (and the wheels too big). However, for the money, I'd buy a C8
  17. Not a fair comparison at all. CVT Civic vs. Mustang GT

I hear you. I do miss that car, but I feel like I'm back to my roots in the Mustang. Actually, I gave the BMW to my son when he turned 16, but had to take it away from him. Too fast, too much trouble, bad grades...
  18. Not a fair comparison at all. CVT Civic vs. Mustang GT

A few cars back, I had a 135I Convertible with a JB4 Tune. That was a sweet car. RWD, light and nimble, but fast as S**T... rode well too, and back seat more usable than my Mustang. I would highly recommend one! Love my Mustang though, and wish I had a bigger garage...
  19. Thinking of buying this

The model year issue figured out, it looks really clean so if you think the price is right, get it and enjoy it! Terrific cars.
  20. Thinking of buying this

Looks nice, but that looks like a 2017, not a 2018. Perhaps Europe is a year behind in updates? Also, the 2018s have a new Coyote (series III) motor with 25 more HP and a 10-speed auto trans.
