I have the 285's on 11" wheels and they really aren't stretched at all. The 305's are interesting but I do like tires that are closer to 27" in diameter.
Intake air temp is something I haven't looked at. Tire pressures and lateral G's but not air temps. One more thing to think about I guess. Thanks for that!
One of the fast autocrossers in town drenches the intake, radiator and intercooler on his evo between runs. I mean he is spraying...
There is a link from SCCA.com>Autocross>CAM Challenge to the Motorsportsreg page. Signed up. Will be spending so much time in Lincoln I may be able to vote in local elections!!!
When it came time to buy my first car in 1981, I wanted a MOPAR. Specifically a 68-70 Dodge Charger but a later model Charger, Roadrunner, Challenger, Cuda, etc. would work too. This was during a time when these cars were just used cars so they were actually affordable. I drove a few of the...
Some of the most fun I have ever had were the door to door, nose to tail races with other cars when I was racing in SCCA Improved Touring. It didn't matter that all I had was a 100HP because the other cars didn't have much more. I miss those days
I use this stuff in our Honda Accord to quiet down the cam phaser on start up. Works better than any other additive I have tried including Ceratec.
And yeah Project Farm is good watch
My guess is that the heat barrier will make a difference. I use that stuff all over my RX7 (entire intake system, floor boards, trans tunnel, etc.) to manage exhaust heat and it works great. Also noticed the wide spread use of that stuff and the gold reflective material on the factory Boss...
Unless you have the magna-ride Stuts and Shocks you should add aftermarket shocks and struts to your list. I have a 2017 base GT and I installed Koni Sports in the first 1K miles. The OE shocks and struts are garbage.
The PP1 K-member brace is attached to the front of the K-Member. It has...
I use this calculator anytime I make a change that impacts gearing or max speed in a particular gear. https://www.racegearbox.com/gear-ratio-calculator/
Another vote for Continental Extreme Contact DWS 06 Plus. Night and day better than the OE tires. I put mine on at 10K miles and now have around 24K on them. Wear is great (even with allot of negative camber) and they are still quiet. Because I autox my car on different wheels and tires I...
I going and curently I am scheduled to get there on Sunday. Travel is pretty easy coming from KC. So I could add a day to my Hotel or camp out in my trailer for a day. Thanks for the heads up
Distilled water can also be found at CVS/Walgreens and at Menards (in bulk) I mix it with anti-freeze when doing a cooling system service. So handy stuff to have around
Have the same issue on my 2017. Started noticing earlier this year on a trip from KC to StL. Now it seems to occur on shorter trips. Car has around 34K miles. Clutch, pressure plate and flywheel was replaced under warranty in 2019 when a hub spring broke. Throw out bearing/slave is original.
Yep! There really is no such thing as a maintenance free battery. If it is not a gel cell or an AGM battery you should be able to service them. Wear gloves and don't touch bare skin or your clothes. Removing the caps exposes you to Battery acid and it can hurt you.
As far as batteries...
I have a 2017 with the original battery. I used to drive it regularly before covid but not now because I work from home. Last year I started seeing the Battery Save mode alert a couple of times. So I put a trickle charger on it and the message went away.
Next I popped the caps on the...
Pretty sure decisions like these are reached due to insurance cost and a track's limited ability to deal with an EV fire. Not all track day groups are funded/insured to the same level. Not all tracks have the same safety infrastructure. Nobody in the business of putting on track events would...
:)I think it looked something like this. Honestly I didn't remember that it was a Mustang but my Wife and Mom were looking at a photo album there it was. My first real car was a 71 Mustang. My 2017GT is my 6th Mustang.
I was born in 64 and my first car was a Mustang which my parents bought for me in 1968 - a 65 Mustang pedal car.
I did consider a Camaro, a friend has a 1LE V6 that is pretty cool. But in the end I had to stick to my roots. So I bought a 2017 GT with a 6spd manual
