Thanks Norm.Just wanted to keep the thread on the top. Judging from the activity on these forums, a lot of people browse and respond here during working hours :)
  2. HPDE in the New England

No one from the New England area on this forum runs their Mustang at track days??
  3. HPDE in the New England

Hi fellow New England Mustang Owners, I often run at HPDE's with COM, http://www.comscc.org/ ..and I have to say that I always have a good experience with them. The instructors are pretty good and the events run smoothly and safely. For the past events I've run with them over the past...
  4. Oil Temperature gauge on GT PP

Also, note that the oil temp gauge that comes with these cars is a calculated value. On a Mustang there is no factory oil temp sensor, according to other posters.
  5. Oil Temperature gauge on GT PP

Yes, changing the oil after a track day is good insurance....definitely worth the few bucks in cost. I just installed a Mishimoto radiator, oil cooler, and an Autometer oil temp gauge. I'm heading to a track this coming Saturday and am curious as to what the oil temps will be.
  6. Oil Temperature gauge on GT PP

Found it...not sure how accurate this is, nor do I know who posted it. I copied the info down when I saw it a few months ago. It is: 38-60C (100-140F) (low) 61-137C (141-279F) (Normal, Green) 138-146C (280-295F) (Warm, Yellow) 147-160C (296-320F) (Hot, Red)
  7. Oil Temperature gauge on GT PP

Someone did a translation chart on a post here correlating the stock oil temp gauge to temp numbers. Damned if I can find it now...
  8. Wire Routing from Engine Compartment

Hi All, Hoping you can help. What is the easiest/best ingress point on the firewall to run a wire from the engine compartment to the interior? I plan on installing an oil temp gauge and need to run the sender wire. Thanks!
  9. Keep your Cool - Mishimoto’s S550 Mustang Automatic Transmission Cooler R&D

It sounds like a browser locale issue. Try clearing your cookies and temp files and try again.
  10. CG Lock or 4 Point Harness

So far, BMWCCA, PCA, and COM accept the Schroth Quickfits
  11. Stiffer sway bars with OEM springs?

Sub'd. Like OP, I'm not interested in upgrading springs, though I do have upgraded shocks/struts. I track the car, about 6-8 HPDE's per year, but DD compliance is super important to me.
  12. HELP! Mt82 warranty issues

I was a dealership tech for 15 years many moons ago, albeit for a different brand. The basics stand true today as they did before. Be polite but forceful. Meet in person with the service manager, not just the writer. The service manager will try to avoid you, but don't let him/her. It can be...
  13. deepest sounding 3 inch muffler replacement

Magnaflows have that deep sound. I've got the axle-backs on mine and love them. Also, if you want to keep the deep sound, don't delete the resonator. Chambered mufflers are the ones that give you the raspy sound, think Flowmaster. Magnaflows are packed rather than chambered.
  14. Seat Belt Shoulder Harness Digs Into My Neck

^^^^^^ This. These work well for me and the wife.
  15. CG Lock or 4 Point Harness

I also have a QuickFit, but "non-Pro", so it is not safe to use with a HANS. I believe the difference is the regular QuickFit has a small sacrificially stitched loop of belt on the inboard harness strap that will break when you get in a a collision. This allows it to act like a regular 3 point...
  16. Question Regarding Downshifting in an Auto

What rpm are you at when you try to downshift? From what I've seen in my car, it means that if it did downshift you would over rev your engine. Think of it as a safety net.
  17. Oil Temp Gauge Setups

Just checked out the pic, it does look good! What were the pain points with the installation? Was it the cabling or the pod itself?
  18. Oil Temp Gauge Setups

Yeah, I was looking at those pillar pods. The fit and finish look good?
  19. Oil Temp Gauge Setups

Hi all, I've pulled the trigger on a Mishimoto direct fit oil cooler and a Mishi radiator for my non-PP GT. The last few times on the track, CHT temps were getting up there. Many OP's say that the oil temp and coolant temp gauge temps are calculated and I'd like to install a true oil temp...
