Not an exhaust update, but I ordered a JLT cold air intake and had time to wrap the “heat shield”/air diverter box in DEI’s gold reflective heat tape. Idk if it’ll work, but it looks cool lol a little rice never hurt nobody.
Mine decided to go out at 31k miles on my 2017, I had to take apart the intake manifold myself and document it with a video to prove to the technician and service writer that it was the manfiold and not the plugs and coils. They replaced it today.
I’ll start posting pictures and what not once the headers and intake are installed and with the tune uploaded. I’ll post a video of open headers as well, cause I gotta move it next door to the hot rod shop once the headers are in.
But like I said, won’t see much until April 6th.
Yessir! My buddies next door at the hot rod shop (I work in a body shop, they’re sister companies along with a mechanical shop next door as well) are gonna fab up a shroud/plate out of aluminum where it’ll exit on the exhaust.
Bought a pair of BBK Shorty “Tuned Length” Headers in the chrome platting and then ceramic coated and baked it myself with VHT header paint in a matte aluminum finish. Once they were done drying for a day, I baked them and then wrapped them in DEI’s “Titanium Header Wrap.” I wanted and needed to...
I think you’re right, cause I think that’s what mine are doing. My suspension is set up pretty stiff (for backroads on the weekends with friends), so the bouncing may loosen the runners when it sticks or vice versa. Cause once looking at the runner valves itself, it doesn’t take a lot of effort...
Dealership wanted to bullshit me after I told them the spark plugs and coils weren’t the problem, they wanted to sell me on spark plugs to get to get “everything back to base” for $300 when I had a set of NGK at home waiting to be put in. I knew if I had paid for the plugs, they’d say that...
LD Automotive in Frisco, ask for Sergio — I work at the collision shop next door, Sergio had always been the one who does my alignment before and after track days. Or if I was too lazy to do something suspension wise. He’ll use the alignment rack to clock the bushings, he didn’t the same for...
I bought the same plugs, but didn’t wanna put them in yet, cause I wanted to test if it’s a bad plug or possibly the runners. I’m not experiencing any power loss or idling irregularities, even when I get on it. There’s no power surge.
But I spoke to the dealership already, and I can already...
Had a misfire code for cylinder 2 and random misfires, moved the coil to cylinder 1 to see if it would follow the coil after I cleared the CEL. It didn’t, then swapped the spark plug from cylinder 2 to cylinder 1 to see if it’ll follow the bad plug. Cleared the CEL again and it came back on...
Like the title says, trying to find out the stock ID of the exhaust manifold — I’m thinking it’s 2.25” from what I’ve read in an article from Mishimoto when they were designing their exhaust system.
According to LMR and Mishimoto, it goes from 2.25” from the exhaust manifold up to the...

I can hear mine as soon as I start moving and the IRS starts doing it's thing. Thinking about it now and then rewatching your video, your rear moves A LOT easier than mine. Seeing as my Koni's are a full turn away from full stiff of course, I gave it a good push several times and felt the...
Just went outside to do the "push test" on the rear end like in your video, never done it before -- no creaking at a standstill. I don't know if you can hear when moving from the outside or if it's only inside the cabin.
So what I'm guessing is, I didn't grease the delrin bushing and bearing...
