Your blatant ignorance astounds me. No one said they were exactly the same. The comment was "CD4-derived". NO ONE in their right mind would think a transverse mounted 4-cylinder would also accommodate a longitudinally mounted V8.
There is more proof that the new car is a departure from S197...
That's a mouthful, and an interesting way of looking at it. Ford would call it a Shelby GT500,but hey, to each his own...
There may be, but the Mustang for many years has been a coupe with a trunk, not a hatchback. Not since the end of Fox body cars have we seen a hatch offered, and back then...
I wouldn't call showing a mirror and some door pillars "showing cow camo" just yet. The majority is still covered. If they shed everything save for the front and rear covers, then we're in business.
My guess is they'll show the F150 in LA, then put the Mustang on center stage at Detroit...
What is that?
I don't understand the disappointment that S550 is going to have a trunk, just like S197. Why would you add complexity to a vehicle that sells <100,000 units a year?
Couple of things. The auto, heated/cooled seats, etc. Others I cannot divulge. Without seeing the outside of the car it's hard to say for certain, but I don't expect the SVT to come in auto of any form.
Except that they're pointing to the steering column on the right hand side, instead of the paddle. It's obscured by the wheel in that particular photo. Why not point out the memory seat buttons or adaptive cruise button on the wheel instead? It's not the SVT model.
I'm not sure why there's so much shock regarding additional wheel buttons. If you look at any MFT equipped car, the 5-way buttons at the 3 and 9 o'clock positions are always there. They've had to relocate other functions, like media and cruise specific buttons, to secondary pods. I'm glad they...
Well said. I hope I speak for everyone here in saying that no one should lose their job over the details provided. If that means the enthusiasts don't get their fill, so be it.
Also hoping the door lock stalks are gone and they go to the red LED like the Fusion has. Based on other cues, I think it's a pretty good chance. We've seen mules with the headlamp switchgear bolted crudely in place too
Agreed, but I don't think it's as simple as turning the handles upside down. Nice catch on the buttons just out of view. Nice to see memory seats on there.
Am I the only one that hopes the floor console has a unified look and uses the same finish down the center? One thing I can't stand about the '10-1 cars is the cup holder lid being textured differently than the rest of the floor console, save for the armrest.
I think TN's sketch is a bit too...
This is not a production final model. Surfaces, textures, and finishes may not be the same!
No need to freak out about cheap looking interior bits when they are not going to be final!
Was it red? There's been a few I've spotted that looked like GT/CS without the splitter until just before the reveal. I remember a red one and also the infamous black Boss convertible with reflective '69 style stripes before the '13 Boss was out.
