  1. Fuel life/Octane loss

I stand corrected then :P Had to repair an old Dodge van at my last job before dealer work, came in with a no start and no fuel pressure. Dropped the tank and it was just corroded on the inside and reeked of lacquer, definitely sat for a few years.
  2. Launch Control option not showing up on my menu

By chance does it say "MyKey is active" in the cluster when you start it? That is what MyKey will do - set the max speed to 80 mph, mute the radio if your seatbelt is unbuckled when the car is moving, and limit max volume to 14. It may also disable track apps. Sadly, the only way to disable it...
  3. Fuel life/Octane loss

Best to use a fuel stabilizer (like Stabil) rather than an octane booster. Ethanol in fuel tends to go bad quickly (~2 weeks?) unlike pure gas (as I have been told).
  4. Dropped a piece of glove on an intake valve.......

At least you weren't like my co-worker and mistook ft-lbs for in-lbs and did the same thing on an F150. Luckily the remainder of the bolt wasn't tight and could be backed out.
  5. Recall work

It's dumb, but that's the way Ford is rolling now it seems. With the brake pedals, they narrowed it down to select engineering numbers failing (which requires locating and reading the part sticker). Parts are becoming more available depending on where you live and how your dealer stocks parts...
  6. Evap core replacement with supercharger

Don't know where all your supercharger stuff is located, mainly access is needed through the RH side of the engine (where the metal lines and hoses to the firewall are). There's 2 bolts under the cowl and 2 nuts on the lower firewall - one behind the intake/RH valve cover and one about 1.5 ft...
  7. Is this engine noisy or is it just me?

With the Rangers, definitely the HPFP. Had one come in with the same concern - rattle from driver side firewall. Sounded just like the HPFP when you lift the hood. I think the lack of sound insulation over the pump is the problem since Ford started deleting engine covers on certain trims...
  8. 21MY Ecoboost HPP vs GT Performance Pack + Magneride

After driving my 101a HPP for a few months now, its really grown on me. Would I prefer to have gotten a GT? Yes...I also really want a GT350, but techs don't get paid that much :(. I wish I did get the handling package, digital dash and B+O...but that would've put it out of my budget. In the...
  9. AC and Hot air issue

To piggyback off this, the blower motor connectors around that time frame are prone to melting causing poor pin contact and thus no blower motor operation. There's a TSB/SSM Ford put out for it with an "updated" pigtail part number. Could also just be a bad new resistor or motor, never rule...
  10. High Performance Ecoboost Registry

August, ended up finding it as a dealer ordered car from another dealer north of me.
  11. High Performance Ecoboost Registry

    '20 Iconic Silver L1983
  12. Positive battery cable corroded off

Ford has replacement positive and negative cable ends (and an SSM for it) if you want to keep it somewhat original. For the positive you have to get a bit creative as it won't hold both the cable to the stater and the BJB and the red cover will not fit.
  13. GT MPG

Jesus! I thought 3.60ish here for 91 was bad. Can we go back to COVID fuel prices? When I was stationed in Pendleton I do remember almost $4/gal for my '66 with 89/91...that was not fun...but at least I had a decent paycheck then. Didn't know Cali had a special "emission reducing" formula...
  14. GT MPG

Never heard of CA blending fuel differently than other states - all I could think is maybe a higher ethanol content maybe? That'll tank fuel economy, especially with E85. Another aspect may be elevation and what your route is. Otherwise I'd say you do have a leadfoot lol. I've peeked at some...
  15. 2020 Died suddenly won't restart???

My coworker had a similar issue with his GT350, the guy who I was mentoring under knocked on the fuse box under the hood and the car would stumble. Replaced the box and harness and all has been well since. May or may not be the same problem, but worth a shot IMO.
  16. Which gas do you guys use?

Wish we could get that sweet 93 here in Arizona, always get 91 at minimum even when I had my FiST. Definitely will be changing stations though as my local corner Shell turned into a Speedway that doesn't get Top Tier gas (and may explain the random P0300 codes on cold starts and some engine...
  17. Long Term Storage

Quote me if I'm wrong (been awhile since I took my courses lol), disconnecting the battery for a bit of time may erase the keep alive memory in the PCM/TCM (data on how you drive to smooth out engine/transmission operation). Personally, I would just use a battery tender as recommended to keep...
  18. Heater Core Delete

The Fiesta's and Escapes of last-gen can have an electric booster heater as well as a normal heater core that will heat up the cabin when it's below 40*F or so, so it is possible. As for OP, since it's a dedicated track car, may as well pull the dash and remove the HVAC case (and compressor...
  19. Ticket tales - tales of folly, yes, celebrations of reckless driving, no

No speeding tickets yet *knocks on wood*, but I got one in my '66 the night right before I was to ship to boot camp right out of high school. Turned left and ended up t-boning a black Jetta - I could've sworn he/she had no lights on or at least had their right blinker on to turn. Admitted fault...
  20. My New Mach 1 is in the garage.

That brochure is all sorts of wrong lol. EB HPP does not get 6 piston calipers or the optional 5 spoke 9X9.5 rear wheels. Seems like Ford has really become disorganized with the Mustang now :/
