There's really nothing to fear from grinding the front cover and the block. Keep in mind that both the FRPP and Roush kits (both of which offer factory warranties) have to do the EXACT same thing (the VMP is based largely on the Roush kit). The work itself isn't hard. Don't let it steer you...
Agreed, but the price is absurd. The new Continental ExtremeContact Sport is solid competitor now at 2/3-3/4 the price. Too bad the Conti doesn't come in a 305 in the right height.
SORRY TO DERAIL THE THREAD.
I wanted a TSS CG but my vendor was out of stock and I received an MMR CG.....hasn't blown up yet.
I used Boundary for OPG. Wish they would release their CG.
CG is crank gear (also called timing gear). There have been fewer CG failures than OPG, but it has happened. You're already in there to do the OPG so you might as well replace it.
I'm up in the Jax area.
Some strategies in the PCM are easier to tune than others. I have a very early '15 which I've heard can give some tuners fits. The car drives absolutely perfectly now though
I installed OPG and CG at the same time. Where in FL are you?
Absolutely, and unnoticed that as well. My best guess was ~595-600 if you take the average of the lines. Regardless, its pretty much right where it should be. The car feels great on the street. Happy customer.
I bought a VMP so I'm obviously a fan. Like I said earlier, my basic Stage II kit made 607/529. That's with a 82mm pulley and 93 octane. The head unit itself is much better than the Roush/FRPP as well as the heat exchanger. Look how dinky the stock FRPp/Roush unit is. There is PLENTY of room to...
If you're planning to go Roush, I'd highly suggest looking into the VMP Stage II kit. It's all based around the Roush kit with noticeable upgrades: a better blower case, a vastly improved heat exchanger with fans and you get the benefit of getting the tune dialed in for your car vice being...
I understand your point of view. Logs were very similar between the low dyno and theirs with the exception of knock retard (ie expected MAF accounts, hertz, load, timing, fuel trims, etc). No tune changes were made when I loaded it on their dyno yesterday. Literally straight off the highway and...
I tried to keep them involved as much as I could. They were all about it and just as excited as me to install it. I have a ton of pics and videos of them during the install, but I think this is my favorite:

I paid retail direct from VMP. I could have absoutely gotten it cheaper through one of their authorized vendors, but I wanted to deal direct with the source if I had any issues. Also, the fact that they're local (only two hours away) makes it convenient.
I don't see a whole lot posted on this forum about the "little 2.3 that could," so I feel compelled to write a little story about my interactions with VMP Performance.
To start off, I'm a turbo guy. Most would call me the ultimate turbo nutswinger. For ultimate power and speed...
