I've noticed the same. However, my car will only be as a good as a Hellcat for a while. Going to leave the stock tires on the rear until I can snag a set of half-shafts. Then it'll be time to throw some stickies on it and head to the track.
I've noticed that as well. But I've been watching VMP for years now. Check out SVTPerformance forum for the most info. They use the same blower on the GT500s.
I just purchased a new VMP Stage II kit this week with the Gen II-R. I'll be installing it next weekend.
This will be my first experience as the owner of a boosted Coyote. But, I've said for years (and I realize others may have a different opinion), that I think the VMP kits is the ultimate...
Too cool, man. Reminds of when I spent everyday of my existence on turbomustangs.com (which changed to the turboforums). So much good info and a new custom turbo build every day. Good times and best of luck!
You're crazy to think a turbo setup will give you less problems than a blower (centri/PD). There are just more possible failure points. You can't go wrong with Whipple, VMP, Vortech, etc. My personal choice will be a VMP Gen II in the next month or so.
A friend of mine is currently installing one on his KB 3.2 3V car. The install is relatively complicated and the provided instructions don't help a whole lot.
Depite that, from what I've heard they work very well.
The VMP is most assuredly not the exact same. The ROTOR PACK is but the case is absolutely unique. You should research more before providing a blanket statement to a new comer.
The Continetal DW is an great tire with excellent wear and rain characteristics. You will notice the sidewall being slightly squishier than the stock Pirellis though.
While doing the suspension is probably the bet thing to do, I would suggest doing the blower first. I'm always a fan of getting the big ticket items out of the way first and then it's easier and quicker to do the smaller items.
I've had the pleasure of driving all sorts of different power adder Mustangs (personal 67 with a turbo, nitrous 3v, turbo 3v, roots 3v, centri Coyote and plenty of various bolt-on 3V and Coyotes) and I've decided to purchase a good old fashioned TVS setup...specifically the VMP Gen-2. I think...
Sounds like a pretty good deal and I don't mean to derail....but why the swap? Do you already have a built motor? Seems like a lot of work/expense when you're already close to the limit. I'm in the process of fund acquisition for a supercharger and doing as much research as possible. Just...
You realize that 5th gear in our cars is 1:1, right? The same as previous generation 5-speed manuals 4th gear. You aren't going any faster due to the physical gate the gear is in.
