I understand that aspect, and that's why if I'm going to tune my car I'm going to get Adam's custom flash, but if there is a way just in case something happens with the car a defect that was already there but only started causing problems after the tune, I'll have that safety so ford won't say...
you are right it counts the number of times your cranked the engine, but if you have your stock and never flashed it or reset it, that means when you put it back in it will have all the info before you swapped the ECU
ITS A SERIOUS QUESTION!.... you went in for an oil change, if you go in with a blown engine they will go thru your ECU and definitely check if it was tuned!
Falcon i see your point, but isnt programming basically flashing it?, and it doesnt seem vin # specific
I don't want to change the topic of this thread, but i feel like this question is related and i created a thread but no one has responded.
so if ford can detect a tune, an ECU cost around $700. So why not just buy an ECU and tune and swap it with the stock ECU, and everytime you go in to the...
I got a question, so if ford can detect a tune, an ECU cost around $700. So why not just buy an ECU and tune and swap it with the stock ECU, and everytime you go in to the dealership you put the stock ECU back in the car.
Can someone shed some light
I connected the hot air hose to the intercooler, test drove the car everything seems fine.
The only problem (Not sure if its a problem), when i rev the engine and the engine RPM go down to idle i hear a click sound exactly at 1000rpm? never heard it before, its a very low click or a "tuck...
Decided not to install the mishimoto intercooler, I took off the bumper to make sure the clamps on the intercooler were tight, went on a drive afterwards and all the sudden the hot air hose on the intercooler came off. Going to the dealership this Monday to drop my car iff
The fact that is happening means there is a issue either boost leak or surge. Reverting back to stock is just masking the problem. I'm going to remover the coolant housing right now and check the IC clamps
I have to wait till Monday. What's really frustrating me is, how could it be a boost leak because once the noises starts happening and I turn off the engine and turn it back on the noise goes away and the performance is back to normal
