Shell 87 octane
and I got it from Shapeways....DO NOT BUY THE STEEL SPACER IT WILL NOT FIT...they have a tolerance of +-5%, this is what someone at shapeways told me before they refunded me.
I just took my GT throttle body off after a 10,000 mile road trip and there is a black soot forming on the top of the throttle body. Also a little oil coming from the drivers side PCV hose. Any ideas?
***I took the throttle body off to change out the plastic Shapeways spacer for the steel one***
I'm getting to just about 35,000 miles now and was wondering what everyone is using as a replacement for the stock Mercon LV automatic transmission fluid. I know it is always safer to use the stock fluid but I would like to get a higher quality synthetic fluid in there if possible. I was going...
Just finishing up a 10,000 mile road trip in about 5 weeks with these struts and shocks paired with BMR SP080 springs on a V6. They have been awesome, VERY comfortable but the car feels very planted and in control. If anyone's got any questions feel free to DM me!
Yes it does, an adapter or have the holes drilled in a new position. I have the adapter and it works perfectly besides a little wisp noise when I hit redline.
I know caster/camber plates make some increased noise due to the bushing being replaced by a spherical bearing, but I have an odd rattle coming from that area while driving over pretty smooth roads. I was wondering if this may be a symptom of something or if it is just the nature of the...
If you're looking into the BBK 73mm tb you should also take a look into getting a used GT tb as it is closer to the actual diameter of the intake manifold. I know myself and a few others have seen great results with this mod and for a fraction of the cost of the BBK.
Here is a little update for anyone who may have a metal intake pipe:
I did some hard driving through some curvey roads in sport mode keeping the rpms above 2k and my IAT never got above 90...which I sort of expected since it is a mild day (70). So what I did was leave the car running for 15-20...
I don't have an ecoboost but Id like to help so I did some looking around online and it seems that an issue with the wastegate can cause this code. When the boost pressure cannot be relieved fast enough it may have caused your engine to see more boost than it was designed for as little a time as...
You'll be all good, it may cost you a little for someone to fix it but you got a bunch of good advice in this thread. Take it to a TRUSTED mechanic or the dealership and they'll take care of it for you.
The DEI heat wrap goes on today, even though its a cool day around 70 im going to beat the snot out of my v6 and see what the readings are. If it does anything at all to my IAT numbers then I assume it was a worthwhile investment of $15 lol. Thank you for everyone who gave me some advice in...
I have one sitting at home awaiting a GT grill since it wasn't fitting properly with my stock V6 grill. The few times I drove with it I did notice a few interesting benefits so it may be worth getting a grill delete and throwing that back on! Thanks for the idea!
That does give me some comfort knowing I'm not the only one with these IATs. I bought some DEI Reflect-A-Gold hight temp heat tape so I'll see if this brings me back down to the 120 range when the next hot day rolls around. looks like I'm alright for now, I'm only seeing 30-40 above ambient in...
