Ok cool. Are there any exhaust junkies who would have an idea just in general of having 1 bigger resonator vs. an x-pipe and 2 small mufflers volume or tone? Rather not cut and weld pieces just to try it out. Also why are some of these muffler deletes $500+, that seems like a lot for a piece of...
So Headers + Borla Resonator + S-Type and I want it louder as I expected. Couple of ideas left. Very curious to see the volume level with your back end mufflers vs. my Borla one, Any luck getting the go pro back? Would also love to hear the Borla Resonator paired with the SLP/Kooks/MRT muffler...
Yours doesn't shift if you haven't touched anything after putting it in S ? I've run the track and it's shifted on its own. I've seen you run some pretty nice times, are you just in D on those?
Not sure if it's ok to have headers but I'll leave it here.
4 in 1 video for those looking at catted headers:
1. Kooks Headers, X-pipe, FRPP Touring Mufflers (too raspy for me)
2. Kooks Headers, Borla Resonator, FRPP Touring Mufflers (nice tone but really quiet especially inside)
3. Kooks...
Probably stupid question but I leave early in an apartment complex with an attached garage. Is it quieter for the other people if I start with closed, open, or while opening (get some of that garage noise mixed in there lol)
Is there any chance one is quieter than the other? Or any other H-Pipe's or other mid-pipes that would be quieter? Looking for one quieter than the FRPP x-pipe but still louder than the Borla resonator.
I decided to purchase the s-type axleback and will pair it with the borla resonator (3rd option in my vid) Going to be quieter then I want but hopefully it will grow on me and I'll look at those other resonator options. Wanting the volume in between the borla resonator and x-pipe lol
Well after thinking about everything and hearing them I'm buying the borla s-type axle back tonight and I'll pair it with the borla resonator while looking into other mid-pipes that could make it louder but not as loud as a regular x or h. What type of reviews does the double-x have, any...
On Carlos's pic the muffler look the same (obviously those aren't always correct). But my point is on oldrnslwr's link the S-Type shows the mufflers as a different shape which is incorrect from whichever Carlos has because his looks like the same shape as the first pic. Possibly the S-Type...
What if I did and H-Pipe instead of the X-Pipe with the Borla S-Type, would that quiet it down much? Are there any other mid-pipes that would have the volume in-between the FRPP X-pipe and the Borla Resonator?
Happen to have someone with the Borla S-type so we just swapped around a bunch of parts. That was the last one standing on the list I crossed off. To be honest I forget the reason why. *Oh, multiple people said it can get a bit raspy up in the higher RPMs*
Thank you for that info, I can cross the Magnaflow Comp axle-back off the list but maybe the Street mufflers (I think they have to be bought as a generic product) with and H-pipe could work. Do you know how loud the Magnaflow Comp catback is vs. the Borla S-Type catback (both w/catted headers)?
I know there's a million posts of exhaust systems but after having 5 combinations I'm still looking and have some questions. Below is the chart I've made with my notes. The 5 on the top are the ones I've had, the bottom are ideas for the new combo. Specific questions/notes are:
The intake, tune...
+1 on everything, but it looks like the 2 mufflers are a little different. Personally I dislike my FRPP Touring with headers very much. Wish I would have bought the Borla S-Type.
