I live in Virginia. I see mine daily. Other than that I see a DIB GT PP , a white V6 and a yellow EB regularly. Say 1 or 2 a day. But still not many. I expect that to change by August.
I don't have issue with a Chinese company manufacturing in China. I do have a problem with a company moving production to China to avoid regulations in their home country that will either make it more difficult to manufacture cost effectively or allow them to skirt environmental regulations that...
On the EB vs Camry front. Last year in November I rented a car, was trying to get a Fusion, ended up with a Camry and drove to Savannah Georgia to run a half marathon. Driving from Virginia to Savannah I averaged about 33 mpg. It was tediously slow and downshifts were required for any sort of...
Whatever you get I recommend getting the PP.
As for wheel hop on the EB. Yes if you launch it hard at the track. On the street not so much. As mentioned many times already I wouldn't worry about it. I'm at 9k miles. I've only ever wheel hopped launching at the track.
I did them myself in my garage on jackstands using an auto parts store rental spring compressor in about 3 1/2 hours. First time I've tried strut springs.
Eibach Pro kit.
Some shops are too proud these days. Sad really.
I went about a month ago and yes I'm hooked. My co-worker has a WRX and we went. Well I couldn't hook it up well enough and he won't quit running his mouth so I've got some incentive. Plus I just had a good time.
Surprising how evenly matched the EB and WRX stock for stock are except from a dig.
Appreciate the info Tommy. I've never had any desire to run at the strip before this car. But now that's all changed. It's not the first Mustang I've owned either. Go figure.
That being said although I know how to drive fairly well I'm entering a world of unknowns and it's the little things...
Here's mine after doing the front springs but before the rear.
Eibach Pro Kit fronts and stock out back.
I did the rear minutes after this so this is the only photo I have in this configuration.
I have the EB/V6 specific pro kit. Installed last Saturday. I've driven about 400 miles this week on them.
The ride over small bumps, expansion joints isn't much different but in the larger dips in the road it's a little better controlled than the stock springs IMO. It definitely turns in...
Not as much as the OP but I've had it 120 days today and its spent 22 days at the airport (work has been slow. Last year by this time was over 90 days).
Sitting at 8538 miles. So about 87 per day average when driven. And averaging 27.137 mpg hand calculated since new. What's not to like.
Yeah I was referring to the whole car not just the skins.
Why? Because I like the idea. And I wouldn't be against an aluminum/carbon setup.
The point was I would be willing to pay extra, if it were an option, for a lighter car.
So I was just sitting here thinking about how much I wished the S550 was aluminum bodied. I know how cost is an issue, etc, etc.....
Then I thought "why couldn't it be an option". The more I thought about it the more I realized I'd have sprung for it if it were a 5k option. Maybe even a 7k...
So knowing that DR's are going to hook up so much better than a stock tire, what width is actually necessary to still hook up. My thinking is the narrowest lightest tire/wheel combo that will still provide enough grip would be ideal. I just don't have any experience with DR's and don't want to...
Curious as to how low is too low on tire pressure. My best 60' on the P-zero's is 2.18 (EB PP) but I forgot to adjust tire pressure and was at 36 psi. I expect I left something on the table.
Is 26 too low? 30ish? Certainly everyone's results vary some but what is the general tire pressure range...
