I love reading through these threads to see all the inevitable "BACK IN MY DAY OUR HORSE AND BUGGY DIDNT EVEN HAVE A SPEEDOMETER AND IT SHOULD STAY THAT WAY" remarks. It's okay to add things to a vehicle that the majority of cars have and some folks find useful. If you don't like the feature...
No one mentioned a new body, only possibly minor cosmetic changes, and ford has been developing a 10-speed transmission for awhile now, so yes its highly likely they'll ditch the 6 speed box in favor of something with more gears.
The new Camaro interior does have nice materials, but jesus is it bad looking. That steering wheel looks straight out of 1996.
Back on topic, I'd like to see a tft display for the gauges although that's unlikely, I'd settle for PP Auto and some new colors though.
I asked a similar question not too long ago and the consensus seems to be that while the magnetic shocks are nice, you won't be disappointed with the base suspension in the slightest.
Does the base dash have the two auxiliary gauges between the vents? The configurator doesn't show them but one of the base models I saw for sale had them on it.
Some if not most of those folks are upgrading from the base unit. From what they're saying its a more costly swap, but still cheaper than the tech pack. Some have added MFT, a few others are working on Sync 3.
People on the normal GT portion of this forum have a thread about retrofitting sync 3 and the parts needed. I think a few of them are in the process of doing this. I've been trying to figure this out as well because I have yet to understand why I have to give up the recaros just to get sync 3.
So really since I dont need nav I'd only be missing out on magneride and the coolers. Good to hear those of you with a base arent finding the non magneride suspension disappointing, and I can always add coolers later when my budget allows for it, I'm sure there will be aftermarket options.
For me budget is mainly a factor, I'm trying to stay within a certain price range. I was originally considering stretching my budget and getting the tech package for sync 3 but I don't want to lose the recaro seats and decided it wasn't worth it. I'll be DD'ing the car and will most likely...
I starting to think I may want to simply go with a base model and I'm curious as to if any of you with the base model feel like you're missing anything not having the magnetic suspension?
It's 2015, convertible and sports car aren't mutually exclusive phrases anymore. I'd buy it if they made one although it's highly doubtful they will. Didn't they already say they wouldn't? Like others have said the GT500 will most likely be the one to get the convertible option.
