The soak plug gap "coin" actually has a gap opener. It's usually where people put them on their key ring. It works like a bottle opener. Also, my factory plugs were NGKs LTR-6, I put in 7's, 1 step colder.

That paper filter is not really a comparison in either surface area or cfm. Plus the k&n is oiled, which will not absorb water in the same way at all.
