  1. Getting Scared Of New Cars.

Of course people who are having problems are more likely to post their tales of woe so that's a given. I'm 58 so I lived through the cars of the 70's and 80's and yes the QC was horrible. Especially the late 70's 80's where the manufacturers were trying to meet pollution standards using electro...
  2. Getting Scared Of New Cars.

    Absolutely! No question about it.
  3. Getting Scared Of New Cars.

True statements. Prior to social media the only way to learn about cars was from car clubs, magazines and the experiences of others. If something was truly awful it would make the mainstream papers. Still I wonder if we are just getting caught up in technology and allowing it to rule us for...
  4. Getting Scared Of New Cars.

As an engineer, that's my opinion as well. I think regulations are compounding the problems though. Ask me someday about my theories of computers, designed by humans BTW, taking over the earth. In a nutshell, until a perfect computer exists that can design an even "more" perfect computer, it...
  5. Getting Scared Of New Cars.

Lol! The Mustang gremlins are going to come and get you! For me, I have an 03 GT Centennial Edition with about 160k+ miles. Only problems I have had above routine maintenance have been: 1. Cooling fan died due to bad bearing 2. Alternator causing flickering battery light. 3. Starter...

Not trying to be a Debbie Downer here, but look at the various fora and it's obvious there is a problem here. And across all brands it seems similar. Do you disagree with that premise?
  7. Getting Scared Of New Cars.

Not sure if this is the correct subgroup so mods please move if not appropriate. So in looking at the new car crop, American muscle cars in particular, I have to say I am getting the willy's here. The Mustangs have the evap problems, driveline vibrations which BTW go back several years, motors...
  8. Leak!! Area behind passenger flooded with water

Not sure how the newer Mustangs are built but I had this exact problem in my 2003 GT Vert. In that car, water runs through the frame and there are little drain slits in front of the rear wheels. The problem was the factory skimped on the seam sealer in the rear floor pans so the water never made...
  9. 2018 engine tick

That sounds horrible. To me, it seems like you have 2 sounds going on. The rhythmic tapping sound and then the rattle sound. I would document everything in writing and time stamped videos. I test drove a 2017 GT leftover the other day and it didn't sound anything like that.
