Good to hear! Ford ended up replacing my ring/pinion/bearings/seals... all covered under warranty. Whine is gone, but now I have a suspected driveline vibration at 70mph that didn't exist before the work was done. Car is back at the dealership. :headbonk:
The reliability of the 2.3 EB platform delayed production of the Ford Focus RS. Anyone who has watched the series of development videos on YouTube will remember this:
I'm guessing the same changes will be making their way into future EB Mustangs.
Seems like a fairly common occurrence, perhaps this thread should be moved/mirrored to the "Issues, Repairs, Warranty, TSB, Recalls" area.
My dealer just let me know that Ford has decided to replace the input shaft, gear, seals and bearings as a result of their findings. They weren't...
My GT PP has the same issue, gear whine @ freeway speeds. It's been like this for roughly 8 months. Just started happening out of the blue. Finally took it back to the dealership. Ford ordered a differential tear down and investigation. Waiting to hear back.
p.s. I don't have any power adder...
Yes, the reverse lockout collars on the manual cars are plagued with a two piece glued plastic design. Mine broke and was replaced by the dealer. The service advisor told me that it'll continue breaking until Ford has a redesign. Your other option is to order a billet aluminum replacement from...

Some advice from a guy who ended up getting an engine replacement fully covered outside of warranty... Put all your efforts into drafting up a well written letter to Ford Service and the executives. Be very professional and keep your facts straight. You might not even need a lawyer.
This exact thing just happened to mine. I'm in the same boat. Apparently Ford is redesigning the reverse lockout mechanism? This two piece plastic junk apparently isn't a Barton design issue, but they're willing to take care of their customers just the same.
Hey guys, I stumbled across this thread and it all read too familiar. I used to have a Mazdaspeed 3 which experienced white smoking issues. Took a while, but Mazda ended up acknowledging the issues and extended the turbo warranty across the entire 2.3 DISI turbo model lineup. The only reason why...
I checked their website, they don't appear to have the 2015+ Mustang listed. There might be a compatible SKU, which is why I'm looking for some stud specifications to determine fitment. The only aftermarket option I've found is this ARP 1/2" wheel stud conversion kit:
Wheel Stud kit, 2015...
