  1. Throttle House puts the 2020 GT500, Camaro ZL1 and Challenger Hellcat Redeye on the track

Hey fellow former 1979 Mustang pace car edition owner, I was just reminiscing about mine and have a question for you. I had the 2.3T version and was never able to test the 5.0 variant. Can you give me some comments on the difference between the two? You're the ideal person to give a fair...
  2. Here's one for the techies

Thanks! Do you have that TSB number by chance? My engine is not currently doing this (2019 w/8800 miles, built pre the TSB date) but if it starts I will refer to this TSB if it starts and I take in.
  3. Time to say goodbye ...

Anyone who has heard the sound of your engine wouldn't be surprised that you got fed up and wanted to sell. Really horrible noises! You know enough now that if you decided to take a chance on a '19 or '20 you should be able to find a good one. My '19 has 8800 miles and still no tic/flutter. I...
  4. Speed Phenom puts his 2020 GT500 on the scale!

Here is some pertinent info on the fuel question. https://www.toptiergas.com/licensed-brands/
  5. Speed Phenom puts his 2020 GT500 on the scale!

Here's a thought: relax! Identity politics is a lose-lose proposition. Make a comment on the subject and move along.
  6. Things to look for when taking delivery of the new car from the dealer?

+1 on the not letting the dealership wash the car, especially if they have an automatic car wash. Some horror stories about getting heavily scratched paint with the auto wash. Check tire pressures. Cars are shipped with 40+ pounds by design and need to be adjusted after shipping. Dealer should...
  7. Cant find a key fob, but car stars.

I suppose this is fitting but waaay back on the first page, second reply, from Interceptor he suggested to look under the rear seat! But if the OP had taken that advice we wouldn't have had this 'Thread of the Year' candidate.
  8. 1st Delivery

This thread has turned into a food fight... [youtube]
  9. Rear end wobbles around corners

I developed a type of wobble when cornering on a Lincoln LS that had IRS and it turned out to be worn out tie rod ends. Replaced them and all was well. With the tire off the ground if you have play grabbing the tire at 9:00 and 3:00 and rocking it that might be your problem. It must have been a...
  10. Middle class income & new car prices

8 years is a mini mortgage! Then again some cars and trucks/SUVs cost as much as small houses. The college tuition 'scandal' is the real threat right now. Universities have been draining taxpayer money, sponsored by the government, out of the economy for years and throwing the debt on the backs...
  11. Who Has A Deposit on a Mach E

She's looking at the screen as she plows into the back of your GT500. It was a pop-up, she had to look!
  12. Cant find a key fob, but car stars.

“Loss; is the returning of what never actually belonged to us in the first place.” ― Yasmin Mogahed He never really had the FOB to begin with!
  13. Brand new PP2 woes.

If you're looking to have 2 sets of wheels/tires, one winter and the OEMs for summer, Tire Rack has done the math on wheel and tire size based on your vehicle. Quite a few choices for looks and performance. This is the link for 2019 Mustang GT with PP1 if you're interested. As previously...
  14. Still happy you bought a 10 sp auto?

If you want to live in Evo's world go ahead but you'll be missing out on a great transmission. This assumes you aren't driving it like a total wanker. Why is it that the magazines don't seem to like the A10 but, almost universally, true owners love it? (somewhat rhetorical) I have a '19 and I...
  15. Ford Performance-Vaughn Gittin Jr.-Road Atlanta

Von uses the paddles quite a bit. I'd like him to do a lap letting the DCT do the 'rowing' and see how it performs. With all of the hype I'm hoping it beats manual shifting.
  16. Cant find a key fob, but car stars.

Fob me once, shame on you. Fob me twice, shame on me...
  17. Oil Plug Being Difficult on '19 GT

What a concept, a OEM oil drain valve! It would also have to be removable in case of failure but an OEM drain valve would be the shit. Alas, the bean counters would never approve spending a couple of extra bucks...
  18. Ford Performance-Vaughn Gittin Jr.-Road Atlanta

Yes, that option exists too...
  19. Ford Performance-Vaughn Gittin Jr.-Road Atlanta

Not doubting anything you said, just trying to extrapolate a little. As I recall they did extensive work on the gas tank in the 500 to prevent starvation. If it is the same dimensions maybe you can swap one in on your 350? It would probably also help with the infamous 'tank slap'.
  20. Ford Performance-Vaughn Gittin Jr.-Road Atlanta

There must be some variables here such as how many miles the 500 went or how full his tank was. Why would a 5.2 N/A motor pushing a lighter vehicle get the same MPG as a forced induction motor with 50% more power pushing a vehicle almost 400 lbs heavier? Road Atlanta is a high-speed track so...
