A side note of interest - on the Toyobaru twins the in-cabin sound is so offensive that many owners have plugged or capped the cabin sound tube in that car, or even removed it entirely.
It's great that the S550 is going to be in a comparison test so soon.... I'd infer from that that Ford is fairly confident in the car, even GM would not let one outlet use a new C7 in such a test when it was just being released (of course they had some other excuse but it was a joke).
The big...
^ Love your point and example there Spartan, it's a key reason I am leaning towards the GT - I don't really need all that engine's performance but the glorious sound, that I do want.
The Toyobarus have one of the worst-sounding engines out there right now for a sports/performance car - sounds...
Some tunes (such as the leading one for the Toyobaru twins) offer rev-matching as an option, obviously without a sensor. However from the threads I saw at FT86.net it seemed like it was not a fully successful implementation.
^ There is a hilarious video meme on Youtube from some Hitler bio with him in the bunker ranting and raving about how the new C7 is so much better than German cars (IIRC)..
With you all the way here. Practicality is not very high up the list for me, fun is at the top - I'm trying to get as close as I can to the feeling I had driving my father's vintage 911 without the expense or maintenance issues - and right now the Toyobaru twins don't cut it (reliability issues...
The weight differential is going to depend on how much Ford chooses to spend on weight-reducing materials and technologies on the RS, and the type of AWD it uses. Personally I'd gladly fork over an extra 2 or 3K if it would knock a few hundred pounds off the weight. I do agree that a 300 lb...
R&T is reporting based on what they consider highly credible inside sources that Ford will be bringing an AWD Focus RS Stateside (and hopefully up here too). It will be using the new EB 2.3 in a higher state of tune than in the S550: 325-350 HP is forecast.
Definitely interested personally. I'd...
I wonder if guard will have a high "fatigue factor" associated with it - when I first saw shots of the S550 it was my favorite color but I have already started to get bored of it - it seems too toned down for the type of car the S550 is. My preference has moved to RR.
