  1. So, I finally got to test drive the GT. It's out for me.(or maybe not?)

Agreed on the hood - the C7 outdoes even the Mustang on this front; it feels like you are sitting at the controls of an aircraft carrier with the car's nose being out in another time zone...
  2. Interior Pics- Beautiful

Love the shifter, seats look to be extremely supportive and have a very attractive shape. Don't like the mismatch in colour between the seats and the dash/console plastic, or the Alcantara on the wheel (which will get grubby really quickly).
  3. New Shelby GT350 Mustang Revealed! 5.2L Flat Plane Crank V8, 500+HP / 400 LB-FT

A bit surprising there is no dry sump on this beast...hopefully they've shaped the oil pan to prevent oil starvation under high Gs. One of the undercarriage photos was a bit alarming, showing barely-insulated purple wiring going into an unprotected connector near the back edge of the front...
  4. So, I finally got to test drive the GT. It's out for me.(or maybe not?)

Thanks Feestha for your comparison writeup, very useful. I found the size of the M235i just about perfect sitting in it, and the sightlines aren't bad at all for a modern car. The new Stang is over a foot longer and 5" wider - that might not sound like much but it makes a big subjective...
  5. New Shelby GT350 Mustang Revealed! 5.2L Flat Plane Crank V8, 500+HP / 400 LB-FT

Yeah, after reading that incredible spec sheet the GT PP seems like weak sauce now...
  6. New Shelby GT350 Mustang Revealed! 5.2L Flat Plane Crank V8, 500+HP / 400 LB-FT

Hmmm- impressive feature set. No mention of weight reduction, so we can expect it to be a bit of a porker.... Not happy that you have buy the entire tech pack - which is likely going to be $3-4K - in order to have the 8" screen with nav, as it sounds like there will be no standalone nav option...
  7. Body panel fit issues/gt pp test drive and review (pics inside)

Hmmm....I wonder if this could eventually become a collectible with some value, it's a one-off after all. Reminds me of those uniquely mis-printed or mis-stamped stamps and coins - they can be VERY valuable.
  8. Mustang vs Camaro SS1LE vs Challenger Scat Pack.and the winner is...(NEW C&D Article)

Thanks Kjw86ca.... any chance of getting the rest of the Final Results table added? The key part of it is missing...
  9. 2015 Mustang GT PP vs. 2015 Chevrolet Camaro SS 1LE

 Top-grade snark, you sir win QOTD! :first: :clap2::clap2:
  10. Cross-shopping the S550 GT with a BMW M235i

Thanks to Oppolock and wjones for the comparisons, very interesting reads. That is the way to test - do your drives as close in time as possible before your memory of the first car fades or gets distorted. Last time I went to our auto show (in February) I recorded some observations in every...
  11. I want a twin clutch transmission

Post a link if you write up this test drive comparison somewhere, it would be very interesting to read.
  12. I want a twin clutch transmission

While a 10-speed might be great for MPG and maybe even for the 1/4, it would be a real joy-killer for those of us who'd prefer to shift manually via the paddles. From what I have read on other forums, even working an 8-speed becomes more of a chore than a pleasure due to the incessant shifting...
  13. Video review/walkaround of new Mustang from The Mustang Bucket List Tour event

Thanks for the frank assessment, this worries me as well - hell I found the FR-S felt heavy on my test drive.... my current coupe weighs 2560 lbs. Nice size though (FR-S), but that crude engine note turned me right off.
  14. 2015 Mustang GT PP vs. 2015 Chevrolet Camaro SS 1LE

This H2H just got posted to Jalopnik. Someone's probably said it in these 14 pages I haven't read yet but if the Camaro can outperform and out-fun the S550 in its current almost decade-old iteration, it will be very very interesting to see what it does on the new platform. Still, if GM doesn't...
  15. New SVT GT350 Mustang (S550) Undresses at Nurburgring (Now With VIDEOS)!

LOL at that exhaust. There is no way that will be legal in this jurisdiction.
  16. Video: Ecoboost -- factory sound symposer vs natural sound

It was very apparent to me as well (listening through audiophile headphones and high-end sound card). And assuming the audio was recorded with less than pro level equipment the differences IRL would be even more noticeable. The non-augmented sound isn't terrible but it's hardly soul-stirring...
  17. Test drive impressions compared to my BMW 335i

Thanks for sharing that - I have seen a fair number of similar BMW histories shared on this and other car forums. As much as I am jonesing for the M2, those reliability concerns may keep me away....
  18. Mustang GT dimensions vs. the world

It's a big car, no getting around it - in my view too big for what is essentially a 2 seater (+2 kids). The m235i has much better rear seat headroom and is over a foot shorter and 5" narrower (as well as 300 lbs lighter). I would have much preferred an S550 with M235i dimensions.
  19. WSJ/Dan Niel Review (EcoBoost)

Not one of Dan's better reviews. He provides zilch on the handling ("better" is all he offers), ride, interior.... I almost wonder if he even drove the thing....
