It would make me a lot happier if your buddy is an auto journalist of some sort? Are you able to say?
We all know what happened with the dealer "preview" but Ford is going to want a big media presence there if this is the real deal.
One thing about the GT350 spy pics is how much lower and droopier that nose and grille is than the other S550 pics. Of course you could be right that the shape is disguised by foam but not sure that would impact the appearance of the height and "droop"
The first pic shows a front end that...
It doesn't look like fangs to me but it still looks awesome. This would be a really interesting aftermarket look and set the 6G apart from all previous gens.
Good point. The more computers are used to control driving dynamics the more expensive not only the car itself but the maintenance and repairs. It's the prob with the German cars in which most everything is controlled electronically. It makes working on these cars yourself extremely difficult...
If it even shares a little bit of Aston styling most people will be thrilled, core similarities or not. Most non enthusiasts associate the skin with the bones anyway.
Yea I can see some of that with the similar silhouette, body lines and hips. It definitely shares the more raked appearance of the cabin. I've always liked the concept's sleekness but hated the front and rear.... chaz's may just strike the right balance for me.
^^^ Honestly Ford hasn't done much. Theres not that many photos or details leaked so I'm not sure it matters whether it was intentional or not. And those track spy pics? definitely not an intentional leak.
Back to the interior, one thing that looks off to me is the bezel is not flush against...
^^ pretty good guess at the time with the chrome trim. The toggle switches should be a nice touch.
I'd bet this is production ready like this. All of the buttons above the toggles that were misaligned in the early photos look like they were cleaned up here. Why bother putting all the nice...
The man shows a render of the tails and you talk about the front overhang which isn't even visible from it.
Anyway how much more can they chop off? The front bumper underbite is already taken in from the current Mustang. That is showing a few inches chopped off already.
Agreed.
And if the S197 is most people's idea of what a Mustang looks like then an evolved design as the S550 seems to be should not alienate enthusiasts.
I am taking from this that there really is going to be halogens, at least on some trims.
I sure hope they managed to keep base prices low then. Otherwise, that's a double fail.
Well this wouldn't be the first suggestion on this site that the IRS will be similar in design to the CD391. Altho it was said that it might be made by FTE. I'm assuming this would be incorrect then if it is actually built at FRAP just in a different bldg...
Are we even sure there's going to be CHMSL? Where are they going to put it on the vert? Considering there was no choice but to put it somewhere visible on the prototypes, I'm not so sure that wasnt just a product of driving around with all that camo.
