I love how some folks are ripping on the OP because he is complaining about quality on a car he doesn't possess yet. I fail to see how that makes the issue any less valid -- it is still a $50k car on display at a dealership that has issues that are unacceptable at any price point on a brand new...
Man, I wish I saw as many S550s as some of you guys. I live just outside of Denver and I have seen 3 since they came out. Total. One was a rental at work, and two on the street.
I have seen a few sitting at the lots, but hardly anything driving around. I also thought for sure I would see at...
No you can't ignore it, but it is not a huge factor. The GM engines always had more torque than the Ford DOHC engines, and they had it at a lower RPM. Granted the car was heavier, but it really did not make a huge difference.
I still think the 8spd is the majority of what causes the car...
The only render that shows a F150 based "new" Bronco is the one that was created by a magazine illustrator when the F150 was redesigned. It circulated the internet every year since then as an April fools joke.
Since the demise of the full size Bronco, the only thing Ford has done is the 2004...
Yep. When we get an 8-10spd auto with the next refresh, the Mustang will be just as fast as the Camaro. And to add -- Chevy put all of their cards on the table with this car. On the 2015, Ford left A LOT of room for improvement which is good for us.
That sucks OP. When you say you emailed them and it is unknown, does that mean they aren't responding, or that they are telling you they don't know?
I didn't actually know that the Saleen cars were actually being built already. I know they have a ton of money issues, but it has been fairly...
I think it sucks that the Mustang weighs so much too, and is the size it is -- in fact that is why I am not buying one right now. But aside from that, we have a new chassis that is twice as stiff, IRS, an interior that is not even in the same world as the last, and has attracted a entirely new...
For all of the guys that think the S550 feels slow -- what kind of cars are you coming from?
I'm just curious, because typically lighter, stiffer riding, less refined cars feel faster.
I am still surprised so many people are freaking out about a Camaro that is a year and a half newer than the S550.
Any engineer that had a year and a half to benchmark their competitor, and couldn't surpass them would be fired. Why is there so much surprise a BRAND NEW car performs better...
Agreed. But you said to elaborate -- and I said a time when a higher gear would not be better.
I personally don't like higher gears -- I like a longer first gear and on a sub-500 hp car would rather stay in first longer than have to hit second right away.
The VooDoo is more complex, louder, and gets worse fuel economy than the Coyote. I doubt we will see it in anything other than low volume SE's. The GT sells too much volume to put that engine in it -- especially with upcoming MPG and emission requirements. It is just not feasible.
And in...
Its all different -- gears, bearings, axles, everything. It is an IRS axle vs. solid axle.
No offense, but I would not trust anyone working on my car that had to have me ask questions on an auto forum before he could work on it. I would go to someone who knows what they are working on. But...
If Ford builds a new Bronco, I can't imagine there would be any intent other than competing with the Jeep Wrangler, which dealers can't even keep on lots(at least I hope that would be their target demographic, because if they have other plans, they are not listening to their customers).
That...
