Cool. That car got posted in my local group, as that dealership isn't far from me. I actually hadn't realized the PP2 was even available on the base GT until that car was posted, for some reason I thought it was a premium GT option only. Not sure how I arrived at that assumption though...
They said it was normal, so no.
I'd agree there, though in my specific case, even I was able to hear it under the car. It's how I found my oil leak. I bought a cheap gopro knockoff to mount around the car, so I'll see if I can confirm their finding after I get the car back from the oil...
Update from the dealership; The pan gasket is leaking. Pans are on national back order, so they are verifying with the ford hotline that the pan can be safely re-used.
Quick update on mine. My car is at the dealership for an oil leak, but I asked them to look for this rattle while they were there. The tech was able to find mine, and said it was clearly gear noise in the transmission.
This actually makes some sense, as I've can hear mine through the...
So I've seen some conflicting info floating around on the leather in the GT premiums. I've got a 18GT 401a now (previously a 16 GT Premium with the premier interior...very similar seat trim), and I'm wondering...is the leather in these cars coated or not?
IE, should I be using lexol on them...
I paid ~7k under sticker for mine? 2018GT Premium PP car with 401a and security in ruby. 46,700 MSRP, OTD price was 39,500, including tax, tags, title, etc. I had some equity in my trade though, which not only cut down the OTD price some, but also the taxes. Your mileage may vary.
Thanks. If they don't find it I'll throw it up on a lift when I get it back. I just figured I'd give them a crack at it while they have my car all torn apart. They have to take the whole front subframe out of it to get that oil pan off :-/. Not too thrilled about that.
Sweet. I drop mine off Monday to get my oil leak fixed, and I asked them to hunt for that rattle while it was on the lift. We'll see if they find anything. Not looking forward to giving up the car for a week, but such is life.
Yeah, I was gonna say my blame of the pan was based on some prior knowledge of Ford having a multitude of issues with composite oil pans and leaking. Even the service writer at my local dealership wasn't surprised when I told him...just disappointed.
The sad part is my friend who owns a...
Yeah I checked around below. Everything is bone dry until you get to the pan, at which point one of the bolts was saturated and the area above it was dry. So that bolt is leaking for certain. I didn't check torque on it, but I doubt that would stop the leak now if the leak path has already...
Oh it is, I've only had the car 3 weeks. I just discovered the leak while looking for a rattle that's being discussed in another thread on this board. I'm glad I spotted it though, I wouldn't have been keeping a close watch on my oil level otherwise.
I just wanted to see what was involved...
Mine is the same, and it makes zero noise, so I think your good. I only posted because the behavior was different than what I'm used to seeing and I wanted to make sure it was normal. I wasn't ever under the impression my engine had an issue as much as the interior gauge.
I don't know. The...
Yeesh. That's what I figured though, I was looking at it last night cleaning the pan off and figured it would require dropping the subframe to replace it. What a pita. Not super excited about and R&R of the front subframe assembly on a brand new car, but not much else to be done about it.
I...
