FWIW, mine was built 11/17 and it just now got released for shipment. Not sure how long it will be waiting for the train; hopefully not more than a week. Definitely frustrating, but it is what it is. A couple of months from now, I'll have forgotten all about the wait.
It's an over-simplification but, because lighter wheels have less inertia. The acceleration forces will be greater (the wheels will respond faster when hitting bumps) and the dampers need to be able to compensate for that.
For what it's worth, mine was built on 11/17 and has been sitting there since then. My dealer made inquiries and was told that a shortage of available transports is holding a bunch of cars back. Not just GT350s.
Does your friend with the FiST have any cooling issues on the track? I've got a friend with one and he cant do more than 2 or 3 laps without overheating on a warm day.

The only premium model it refers to is the Ecoboost Premium.
