  1. Pony Car Sales outside of the US and Canada?

The passion for performance cars in general and Mustangs in particular certainly is strong in Aus and NZ. I have attended several Mustang Club of America events over the years, and we are always certain to meet up with lots of our Aussie and Kiwi friends. Some even ship their Mustangs over for...
  2. Pony Car Sales outside of the US and Canada?

Does anyone have any insight on what Chevy and FCA are doing with sales of their pony cars in Europe or Down Under? Do you see any around on the streets or in show rooms? Heard any numbers? In Canada (Pop.=36m), Ford has sold 6297 Mustangs YTD in 2016, while Challenger is 2nd with 2566, and...
  3. C&D 2016 Lightning Lap Numbers (GT350R Included)

I think I missed your response to my question.
  4. Pony Car Sales outside of the US and Canada?

Are you sure it said 'exported' and not 'deported'?
  5. Pony Car Sales outside of the US and Canada?

Mustang conquers the world A globetrotting hit, from Europe to Mideast to Australia Ooooh! That helped my itch a lot. Thanks John "Today, overseas markets still account for a small fraction of the Mustang's total sales, with about 80 percent of the cars -- all built in Flat Rock, Mich. --...
  6. Pony Car Sales outside of the US and Canada?

Does anyone have any Facts/Rumors/Guesses about how well the Pony Cars are selling outside of the US and Canada? I have tried asking on various websites, but have had no luck in getting any useful information. Of course I am most curious about the RHD Mustangs, but would take anything that I...
  7. GT Challenger - AWD

It certainly makes sense for Ford to explore this option for the Mustang, especially if emissions regulations become tougher for the V8s. They have an opportunity to test it's appeal with the Fusion Sport AWD with the 2.7 EB. If that car sells well and starts showing up in competitions against...
  8. GT Challenger - AWD

I'm thinking more in terms of the Alpha platform being too small for decent Pony Car utility and the Alfa Guilia looking like it might top out with a TTV6.
  9. GT Challenger - AWD

It looks like whether you spell it Alpha or Alfa, the Greek symbol may become the symbol for a Pony Car that lost it's way.
  10. '17 GT350 vs '17 Camaro SS 1LE

I wonder if we would get fewer people going off on tangents (like I'm currently doing), if we could just give a Down Vote to a comment instead of having to add another comment (or ten) to discuss our disagreement. It would be really cool if we could just add an appropriate Smiley after our...
  11. '17 GT350 vs '17 Camaro SS 1LE

    No Thanks
  12. '17 GT350 vs '17 Camaro SS 1LE

Hack: Your comment brings up a dilemma for me. In order to 'Down Vote' MRGTX's comments I would have to stop ignoring them. I assume his last comment was directed at me. He must have taken something I said as being directed at him.;)
  13. 2018 Mustang refresh?

I wonder if that could mean moving a bit further away from the Camaro badass look that is not selling, and more towards a smooth stylish look that is selling well. I like the idea of a basic Grand Touring performance car rather than a smallish(?) Sports Car....backed up of course by the badass...
  14. '17 GT350 vs '17 Camaro SS 1LE

I would like to see Mustang6G add a 'NoThanks' or 'Down Vote' for comments like these. There seems to be several C6 interlopers and even real Mustang fans who like to take these kinds of shots at The Pill and others, but all that is shown are those who 'Thank' them for their negativism. This...
  15. C&D 2016 Lightning Lap Numbers (GT350R Included)

Now that we know you sell Camaros, I am curious about your statement. I happen to agree, but I am in no way close to the buying public opinion of the Camaro, nor internal Chevy scuttlebutt as you and ZaneWayne probably are. Could you elaborate on what makes you think that is true and what...
  16. August 2016 Mustang Sales - 8,299

I agree completely Chad that Ford took the best styling features from their early Pony Cars then integrated them into a cohesive style that is as much classy Grand Tourer as retro Pony Car. It may now be more of a GT in both the European or North American sense of the name than it or any other...
  17. August 2016 Mustang Sales - 8,299

I wonder if it might be more accurate to say that the Mustang has taken on a stronger Grand Tourer (Gran Turismo in Italian) style instead of a European style. In North America we use the letters GT to refer to a performance car that is probably bigger than a Sports Car, but I think Grand...
  18. August 2016 Mustang Sales - 8,299

Had to do it again on Camaro6. Just too annoying.
  19. August 2016 Mustang Sales - 8,299

If the S550 looked like a DB6, I would agree with you, but I don't think the DB9 owns a look that can be called European. It has a strong GT look and so does the Mustang, but that is not a European thing and certainly no reason to discredit the Mustang.
  20. August 2016 Mustang Sales - 8,299

I have heard that putdown many times, but I just don't get how that can be accurate. What makes it European? Its not small. The IRS doesn't change it's looks. Is it because it appeals to Europeans as well as North Americans? Mustang has always been popular in Europe as well as Down Under. That's...
