My 2018 was 1qt low. The trans fluid has to be at least 206* or more to check. It takes a lot to get it that hot.
Trans was making some noise (like you could hear parts tapping) added the 1qt and the noise was gone.
The reason Motorcraft stopped making XL-17 was it did not have a long shelf-life. After time the carbon would completely stick to the bottom & side of the bottle. That's what long time Ford Powertrain Engineers told me.
