  1. weight difference with decked out premium vs stanndard gt

The marketing department always try to do that, but whether it will translate into any meaningful to the engineering department I can't say.
  2. weight difference with decked out premium vs stanndard gt

I think Ford can make the car lighter with extra aluminum contents but that will affect the bottom line. All these supposed "leaks" were meant to get a feel of the customers responses.
  3. '15 Mustang GT with PP & Recaros vs. '09 Porsche 997 Carrera?

If you're stuck in NY, it's probably better to go with a 997 Carerra 4S :-).
  4. HiPo Mustang (S550) Prototype Spied -With Different Exhaust Setup and Sound

I actually think even the base GT engine might have an edge vs. the C7 Corvette especially at high rpm. An proper NA 5.0 V8 cannot be underestimated. Remember the Corvette is a pushrod with only 6.5K rpm. A 3.0L straight six turbo is still a straight six and could have heat issue at extend...
  5. HiPo Mustang (S550) Prototype Spied -With Different Exhaust Setup and Sound

Considering the GT350 will be positioned against the likes of Corvettes and European and Japanese high performance imports, hopefully it will be LA.
  6. Guess the 2015 GT's 0-60 and 1/4 mile

I think the current Boss number is a good starting point if a touch slightly faster but it will depends only gearing too.
  7. HiPo Mustang (S550) Prototype Spied -With Different Exhaust Setup and Sound

Seems like these are the possibilities: 1. 5.8 supercharge from the GT500 2. bored out 5.2L with 520hp 3. TT V6 eco boost 4. Flat crank 5.0 (though unlikely now)
  8. WHEN will Ford release '15 5.0 Coyote numbers?

Not a bad date to release :) and have Clarkson read it out on Top Gear show.
  9. Engine Pics of each model (GT, V6, EcoBoost)

There are two additional braces that mounted back to the fire wall.
  10. 2015 Mustang versus next 6th gen Camaro

    Not a good looking car.
  11. 2015 Mustang versus next 6th gen Camaro

    O Ouch, that hurts.
  12. Purported "official" 2015 Mustang weight specs - via dealer manual source book

Why do you think people are buying smaller car to save on gas? Most can probably do basic math.
  13. Purported "official" 2015 Mustang weight specs - via dealer manual source book

Do we know how much the GT weighs with the PP package? I thought it's mostly speculation. Was 3300lbs with full tank of fuel? How much does Z51 add to the weight? Can the Z51 package alone add 144lbs?
  14. Purported "official" 2015 Mustang weight specs - via dealer manual source book

Car & Driver had the C7 with the Z51 package at 3444lbs and same with Edmunds. http://www.caranddriver.com/chevrolet/corvette# http://www.edmunds.com/chevrolet/corvette-stingray/2014/comparison-test1.html The Mustang V8 might have an edge with its being a DOHC with better top end response.
  15. Purported "official" 2015 Mustang weight specs - via dealer manual source book

The V6 weighs nearly the same as the 2014 model which means whatever weight gain has to come from the rear. And since the IRS and wider rear track contribute to most of the weight gains, that means a lot of the weight has been pushed back to the rear. The 2014 V8 weight distribution is around...
  16. Purported "official" 2015 Mustang weight specs - via dealer manual source book

So I supposed a wider-than-front rear track will help out the weight distribution to more toward rear bias. By now I am becoming a bit less optimistic though :D. Most front engine/rear drive have the front track slightly wider vs. the rear track to improve turning in and under steer so what we...
  17. GT350 price range?

The C7 base starts at around 52K. If the GT350 starts at 54K, it will better have at least the same performance as the C7. I am not sure most people will spend the same money for less performance. Also the GT350 will probably have the rear seats removed so the 2+2 advantage won't be there.
  18. Rumor: Steeda Blog - 2015 Mustang Weight Gain (Updated with Steeda's Response)

Personally I don't see the logic that Ford went through all that trouble to redesign the whole chassis with supposedly "thousands of hours of computer simulations" and somehow gained more weight. It's like someone trying to pay more for a V6 than a V8 GT.
  19. Rumor: Steeda Blog - 2015 Mustang Weight Gain (Updated with Steeda's Response)

The M4 rear suspension uses a 5-link design? I wonder for a mid-size small car, does it really need a 5-link? The Mustang integral links seem like a simpler design although Idk which one is more effective. If I have to take a guess, the M4 rear suspension probably will be more compliant at...
  20. Rumor: Steeda Blog - 2015 Mustang Weight Gain (Updated with Steeda's Response)

The one significant unknown to most of us is how much weight is saved on the basic body shell and how much aluminum and exotic materials are used. The final weight probably will depend on how much those exotic materials will be used and it will related to the car profit margin. Ford and Steeda...
